Inspired by a MM poll - your e-ring.

Let's say your e-ring gets lost or stolen.  Completely gone forever.  Insurance is paying for a brand spankin new ring.

Do you get an exact replica of your ring?  Bigger?  Smaller?  Better quality? A little different?  A lot different?

Yes, I'm being a PW.  Humor me, I'm bored and it's going to be a long day.

  • I'd probably let Guy pick it out again. that's the special part about it to me. he put so much thought into it.
  • I'd get a little bigger diamond that is round and not marquis- and keep the wedding ring with the sapphire trilliants.

This. Except I'd let Andy pick, not Guy. :P

  • I'd probably keep things the same, honestly.  I love my ring, I can't think of anything I would change, seriously.  I would probably get a little better quality diamond.  My center stone is an heirloom, almost 150 years old, so it's got a few dings and scratches in it.  I'd be devastated that it would be gone.  But naturally any new diamond would be a little better quality.

  • I think I would stay with the same gold color, I have rose gold, but I might go with a different setting. Right now it's 3 bigger round diamonds but I like the one bigger stone.

  • I'd probably keep things the same. Jay put a lot of effort into designing a ring he thought I would love and I do. I wouldn't sneer at upping the carat size of my center stone though Smile

  • I would get the same one. I'm a very sentimental person, and it wouldn't feel right having a different one.

  • I am on my second ring- due to damage on the first so it doesnt bother me. I would opt for a bigger stone in the center now that the band is a little bigger with my new set but other than that I would keep it- I wouldnt mind a second band.

  • The same. It's big enough for my finger, but the only thing I want is a matching second diamond band.

  • I really love my ring. It's already a good size and H picked great quality stones, so I would probably just get something the same.

  • Same size, same white gold. I would get a better setting though. The one in my ring now is really high and only 4 prongs. I'd probably go with a lower setting and at least 5 prongs (possibly six).

  • If insurance had covered it, I would have chosen the same ring, because it was my dream ring. That's why D picked it.

  • I absolutely love my ring -- I would do everything I could to get an exact replacement.

  • I absolutely love my ring. It's so unique and beautiful. However, I know that the setting has been discontinued (it was being discontinued when Dave purchased it).

I would choose a similar setting, but I wouldn't be opposed to a larger sized center stone ;) Same cut though.

ETA: Corrected misspelling and missed a couple of words. I apparently need more coffee.
