Does your H know how much you weigh?

The actual number? Does he just have a general idea? Does he know what size you wear?

Re: Does your H know how much you weigh?

  • So funny you posted this, I was planning to wait until Christmas to weigh myself for the first time since about 2 weeks post-partum, but I did it today. I was about to AW myself in another thread, but I'll do it here. I am officially at my lowest weight since I started losing weight 5 years ago. I'm 165, which I screamed to DH from the bathroom, so yes, he knows. He also knows my pants size, because I was giddy when I could put on a pair of 10's (still mostly 12's). Now I'm only 13 lbs. from -100... gah, it's been my huge goal for 5 years, and it's getting so close! My previous low was 167, about 6 months before I got pregnant.

(sorry to post crash and write an AW-novel....)

  • XH knew how much I weighed & that my closet ranged from size 6 to 12.

  • H knows mine, but only in the last two years. He didn't know my high weight. I guess he could put it together since he knows the number for how much I lost. He knows my usual range now though and my short term goal.

I think he knows my size, but only because it's on my Christmas list. And that's actually a size smaller than my usual because of the store sizing. So no, he probably doesn't know. lol

    Ashlee, that's awesome! Congrats! :)

  • I think he knows more now than he used to. When I've hit certain loss goals I haven't been able to keep it to myself :) As for clothing size... I don't know, he might be able to guess. I have mentioned to him lately some sizes I was excited about fitting in, but I don't know if he retained that information.

Ashlee that's fantastic! I'm so happy for you! You're doing so great and I know you'll be able to reach your big goal.

  • My BF knows how much I weigh, knows what my high was and saw photos of me at my low. The one thing I hate more than anything else is weighing more than him... especially beacuse Im 8 inches shorter. Grrr.
  • He knows for the most part. He's seen the number on the scale and we've obviously gone shopping together, I just don't think he pays attention enough to remember. Plus with vanity sizing these days are any of us really any definite size? No lie, the sizes in my closet range from a 0 (SERIOUSLY freakin laughable...I probably haven't been a true zero since I was 13) to a 6. Most fall in between those numbers. I'm not complaining, but vanity sizing has gotten a bit out of control. I feel bad for the truly tiny people that probably have to shop in the kids department these days.

    Ashlee, that's so awesome. Congrats!!

IDK, I wear a 12 everywhere. I don't think I have one pair of pants that I wear that aren't 12s. I asked for a 10 in some lululemon crops because I want some a little tighter for working out so they don't go anywhere. ETA: I have lululemon crops in 12s and they fit fine for everyday, but they're just a little loose in the waist for zumbaing lol.

  • Ashlee- that's so awesome! Congrats!

He knows how much I weigh and maybe my size. We're very open about weight since we're both losing right now. It helps that everytime I lose a pound I run screaming through the house to tell him.

I'm also pretty consistent in the size I wear. Right now all my pants are the same (12) except for Old Navy jeans which always seem to be a size smaller.

I wonder if it might have something to do with body shape and if someone's size is more defined by their hips or their waist. I could see that making a difference in skirts and dresses - if it is more flared out then someone who is more hippy could potentially wear a smaller size. That would never happen for me though because my size is so defined by the waist. I always have extra room in the hips. I don't know though, I could be completely off the mark here.

  • I don't think so, I don't even know how much I weigh right now.  I go to the doctor again next week, so I'll find out then.

DH did call me at work yesterday and ask me what dress size I wear.  I told him it's really impossible to tell since everything fits differently when you're pregnant.  He wouldn't tell me why he was asking ... I am sure I will find out soon enough.

  • He knows how much I weigh. Especially now, I update him all the time. He doesn't know what size I wear though. Actually, I don't know what size I wear now.

  • He knows roughly my weight I think. I'm sure he doesn't know my size.

95% of the stuff in my closet falls between a 2 or a 4, but it does vary. I guess it can vary on where things fall on my waist though. I carry more weight in my hips and butt and then I have a gap at my waist because it's the leanest part of me....so maybe you're right. If I'm fitting something to just fit my waist, it's going to be smaller.

  • Congrats Ashlee!! That's great!

DH definitely knows how much I weigh. It's always been a focus for me and I've always been really open about it with him so he's well aware.

As for size, he knows that too. I'm wearing between a 2 to 6 depending on the store and he's seen me try on all 3 sizes. He was with me when I fit into a 2 for the first time a month or so ago and I was pretty excited so I'm sure he remembers.

  • H- to the no.

He could easily look in the closet and find out but that's not something I tend to share with anyone.

The actual number? I practically shouted it from the roof tops every 5 pounds that I have lost. I doubt he can recall the exact number.

Does he just have a general idea? If so, he is well informed lol

Does he know what size you wear? Yep, I always dream of him picking me out an outfit or something, NOT!

  • I have no clue what I weigh now so I doubt he does! :) He knows my normal range though and my size.

  • yes, he knows the actualy number since I was whining about how much weight I have lost since breastfeeding and all the stress I am under.  I currently weigh 108 (20 lbs less than when I got pregnant).  This is the lowest I have weighed in 12-15 years.  I'm not really thirlled about it since all of the pants I had saved for when I got skinny are a size 4 and those are too big for me and we really don't have money for me to go out and buy all new clothes.  I am seriously trying to gain some weight back since I am tried of the comments from everyone about my weight loss.
