On Thursday we go for our 20 week ultrasound. I have been hellbent on not finding out if "Plum" is a boy or girl and want to stay strong. I had a friends appointment go sour because the tech used the gender.
Any advice for those of you who didn't find out for approaching the appointment?
Thanks all!
Re: The 20 week appt.
Just find out!!! ;-). J/K
No advice since we found out, but can't wait to hear how things go!!
The tech at our u/s asked before anything else -- did we want to know. I told her if *I* could see it, then we could find out (and told her that *I* wasn't the one that wanted to find out, so that was the compromise). When we got to the shot, she pulled the screen away and said "Okay, are you sure you want to know?" And then showed us. She was awesome!
Just make sure you tell them you DO NOT want to know. The tech doesn't even need to go looking for the shot if you don't want to know!

We didn't find out with N...as others have said, just be up front before the u/s starts. The sonographer told us to cover our eyes when she was checking that area...it worked out perfectly.
IMO, you won't regret not finding out. Just an extra incentive at the end of labor
