2012

What are you looking forward to next year?

Any new years resolutions?

Re: 2012

  • The end of the world?

But no, seriously, I'm looking forward to a full year at my new job.  I finally have my feet under me and some serious responsibility coming in, I'm excited.

As far as resolutions... save money.  Save lots and lots of money.

ETA: Do you think the end will be natural disasters or zombies?  'Cause I'm totally ready for some zombies.

  • I don't "do" New Year's resolutions - I like to set monthly goals, they seem more obtainable to me.

I am looking forward to getting my yoga teacher certification in 2012 and starting to teach. I'll probably try to teach 2-3 classes a week and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm also looking forward to H hopefully getting hired on permanently at his job (they have promised to make this happen in second quarter) so that we can establish a more concrete budget and work more quickly to pay off our house debt by the end of the year. That way 2013 can be all about saving money!

  • My New Year's resolution is for ESD to post more pictures of her kids.
  • I don't have any concrete plans for 2012 - I may go for a professional certification if I can figure out what I want to do.

My resolution is the same as always - concentrate on my health and try to expand my social circle.  I've been doing really well with my diet, but I need to add fitness back into my daily life.

    This is my siggy.
  • I'm looking forward to getting married next year - yay. I also don't make resolutions, I try to set some goals for myself and strive to achieve them. Mostly they include continuing to make better decisions for myself in all areas of my life.
  • What are you looking forward to next year?

H and I have put in our orders for our 2012 wedding anniversary. It's our 5 year anniversary, so we're spending a bit more than we typically would. He found some gun that he wants, so he's done. I've requested a KitchenAid mixer and new cookware. I can squeek all of that in for our set amount (as long as he shops on Amazon). The cookware is just Calphalon, but it's stainless and not covered in Teflon... yay for no more plastic cooking utensils!!!

We're going on vacation next year too. Woohoo! I'm looking forward to getting out of this area for awhile. H and I are going to investigate a little more in-depth while we're there. We go on vacation to the same place every year, and every year we like it more and more. We may consider a big move in a few (5+) years. We'll see...

    Any new years resolutions?

    Nope. I don't do resolutions.

Although, remember gym goers... it's  your last two weeks of available equipment for a couple months. Enjoy the eliptical while you can!

  • I don't really "do" resolutions but I like to set smaller period goals to set new habits. In 2012 I want to work picking away at my 30 before 30 list. Some of the items on there I want to do in 2012 are planting my first garden at the new house (probably a container garden on my deck), finishing editing my NaNo 2011, and shed the last 10 or 15 lbs I've been hanging onto. My car will be paid off in June so I want to crack down on my credit card after that and get it paid off in 2012.

Mr. Bang and I have talked about when we might want to move in together, and that may be in 2012. That would be a big thing to look forward to - but a lot of that is dependent on how his business does.

This is probably flameful, but I am so not looking forward to that. I just joined a gym that I'd been going to since August for free through work and the enrollment fee and monthly fee is kind of steep ($175 enrollment and $80 for FI and I to go per month) that I'm hoping it doesn't get too crazy. That's a lot of money to drop for someone to come for 6 weeks.

  • My new years resolution is for fuss and ESD to post more pictures of their kids.

  • Just another awesome year.  I'm a very lucky girl.  I'd like that to just continue.

I don't do New Year's resolutions.  The only resolution I've ever made and stuck to was when I was 17 years old and I resolved to be less shy.  It's always funny to see people's faces as H tells them that I used to be painfully shy (was too nervous to even call for a pizza myself).  It was the best resolution I ever made and I feel like it actually made me more... me.  I can't top it so I don't try.

  • I am going to do resolutions this year.

First of all is money. I hope the be able to quit my second job at the end of the year, so we need to get our budget in line and pay things off in a big way this next year.

Secondly is my health. I need to take better care of myself and figure out how to balance my family time with my time. I honestly can't figure out how people work out with kids. I need to do that.

Third is social. I need to concentrate on making friends and being more outgoing.

We are also going to TTC in 2012. It is going to be a big year.

  • 2011 has been a pretty awesome year for me, so I'd like for that all to continue.  I'm looking forward to our trip to the Dominican Republic in 2012.  It would be nice if they could figure out my health issues, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.  2012 might be the year we get engaged (that feels really funny to say because I have never been a person who cares about getting married).

I don't really do resolutions.  I'd like to get back into shape, but it's hard with the restrictions the doctor has put me on.  I'd like to become more confident, although I have no idea how to do that.  I'd like to maintain the friendships we've made this year and make some new ones.

  • I'm excited for 2012!

I will finish my weight loss and live as a healthy person inside and out for the first time EVER.  That is probably the biggest and most rewarding thing I have ever done for myself.

Start paying down credit card debt more aggressively

Perhaps move back to my home state

These aren't really resolutions, because I know that I'm going to accomplish them.  But it's great to know that some awesome things are on the horizon.

  • I'm looking at really trying to get my illness diagnosed so I can look into getting disability, which means I'm first going to have to fight a lot of doctors, then a lot of lawyers. Also looking at paying off a big chunk of our student loans and saving more towards buying a house in the following year.

I have no resolutions. I'm not driven enough.

  • 367 days to go until we get ours.:)

If you mean 12-21-12, I believe there'll be a galactic alignment and that there's something to it with the I Ching, the Hopis and the Mayans and other ancient cultures all coming to the same kind of conclusion...but believe the real kook stuff I don't.

  • I'm due in August and we are moving to a larger home sometimes this spring.  My early new years resolution is to keep exercising during my pregnancy.  I gave up when pregnant with DD and had a hell of a time getting back in shape after she was born.

  • To be better to myself, mentally and physically.  I have to get better at forgiving myself for mistakes, and take better care of my body.  That's my goal.

Also I want to aim for us to get to a point financially where we can ttc 2013, if not end of 2012.

  • To re-start Atkins, though that will probably happen before the start of the new year.  I started it a few weeks ago to get my stomach under control and I was feeling fantastic.  I took this week "off" because of the holidays/stuff going on, etc., and I'm regretting it already.

To use my new KitchenAid mixer at least once a week.  I'm sure I'll be stalking BBE's cooking blog looking for yummy things to whip up.

People still do Atkins?!  Don't get me wrong... I did Atkins years ago and was ALL about it.  But that shyt is NOT maintainable.

  • I'm not looking forward to much, other than watching Baby Malibu become more independent while she continues into toddlerhood. All we're doing next year is continuing with school (neither of us will finish yet), working, and taking a long vacation in March to Florida.

I don't really do resolutions, I have no willpower.

    Oh, FFS.
  • I guess my resolution is to fulfill fuss and broc's resolutions lol.

Right now I'm just trying to get my stomach issues under control and I decided to try it to see if it helped and it did.  I won't go into all the gory details but I was really messed up.  As soon as I went back on it, all my problems started clearing up.  So, now I'm trying to figure out if I've got some weird allergy thing going on.  So, I think I'm going to keep it as my 'baseline' and try adding some things back in one at a time to see what is causing my problems.

  • My resolution is to work on me.  As soon as things goes thru with my STBXH - My project is going to be me & strictly me.  I'm going to lose the weight that I've been carrying around, but for MY satisfaction, not anybody elses!  Possibly go back to school, get my apartment with furnish it with stuff I like - and that I pick out.  My goals are to simply make me happy - and that's it! Wink
