Pandora Bracelets

Does anyone have a pandora bracelet?

Did you buy the entire bracelet or build it as you went along?

MIL wants one for Christmas and I'm confused- do I just buy the bracelet and one charm or what. Any more than that and that's out of our price range for a gift.

ETA: Does anyone have a rec for a good, cheaper alternative?

I was given a Chamilia bracelet last year, the bracelet and two beads. I haven't added anything to it since, so it's pretty pathetic. I like the build as you go though, so each bead means something

I like the build as you go also, but don't feel like I have lived enough life to be able to fill up a bracelet yet!

My MIL gave me one when Elle was bron, she had 3 charms put on it, I have added one since. I know Kay has a version I don't know if it is cheaper or not

I have a Pandora bracelet... it was a gift from SIL and came with one charm, but since DH knew it was my birthday gift last year, I also received two from him, so I had three to start. I have about 10 or 12 now. I usually get one from somebody for every major occasion and I have purchased two for myself-- one at Atlantis and one on our recent Disney cruise.

I have also purchased Chamilia beads to go on my bracelet-- they actually started before Pandora did, so I don't consider them a "knock off" company, and I think their beads are as high or higher quality. Some of their designs are much prettier IMO.

As another person mentioned, Kay and the like have their own beads that are less expensive and might fit the Pandora bracelet, but I think receiving the bracelet with a starter bead is plenty.

My DH got me one from Kay's for mothers day this year and he had purchased 3 beads to go with it. He buys me a bead or two to add to it for each holiday etc.

I have a Pandora bracelet. I bought it for myself a few years ago with 2 charms. It's now almost full. I receive a charm from someone for every holiday or occasion. I bought one for my aunt last Christmas with just one starter charm and she now has a few. I would say be careful of using non Pandora charms on a Pandora bracelet. I had to take my bracelet back to the store b/c something was sticking me in the wrist and they wouldn't replace it b/c I had non Pandora charms on it and they thought that's what caused the problem. Lesson learned. They have some really cheap non Pandora charms on eBay!

I received a Pandora bracelet for my first mother's day from MIL & SIL. It was the bracelet and a baby carriage. I'm building mine. For holidays they often add a bead. I actually like it with just a few beads than completely full.

I have a Pandora bracelet and we buy charms as we go along... i.e. I got Nolan's birthstone when he was born, etc. I have mostly Pandora beads, but some Chamilia too- I like that you can mix and match them.

Brighton offers a cheaper alternative. The Pandora beads fit Brighton bracelets, and Brighton beads fit Pandora. Mom, sister, MIL, and I all have a Brighton. MIL's was her Christmas gift this year
