Hello, I was just told about this board and wanted to pop over to introduce myself. My husband and I moved to Ft. Worth, from Mississippi, in August and LOVE it here. We are originally from AL, so we're pretty far from home.
In September we decided that we would start TTC in March. Although we are not trying until March, we are currently not, not trying.
Since we've been here I haven't had a chance to find a good obgyn. I'm ready to find one that will stay with me all through my pregnancy (whenever that happens). We live about 20 min. south of downtown FW. If you know of any good ones (that are approved by BC/BS, I would be beyond appreciative.
It is great to meet you all. We are very excited to be in DFW. Absolutely love it.
Re: New to DFW and new to this board
Welcome! Everyone on here is very nice! Feel free to jump on in in the conversations!
Regarding Ob/Gyns- How far are you willing to travel? I live in SW Fort Worth, and I go to Dr. Cynthia English. Shes AMAZING. While, we're not in the process of TTC, shes a Dr I know I'll be staying with, because she makes you feel so comfortable. Theres not a long wait in her office, and her nurse(I forgot her name) is SUPER nice. If you need to call up there, and have any questions, they get back to you very quick. They do take BC/BS.
Theres also a couple of them in Cleburne, about 30 minutes from downtown FW that are very good.
These ladies are very helpful, so feel free to ask any questions. HTH, and GL!
Hi! I am glad you came over. When did you guys get married? Do you have any pets?
My gyn is not an OB and she is pretty far from you, but my BFF swears by Dr. Kevin Gordon in Arlington/Mansfield. You might check into him: http://omegaobgyn.com/site/physicians/dr-kevin-r-gordon
Hello and welcome to the board.
I live in Dallas, so I'm no help on the OBGYN question. I just wanted to say hi.
We got married in June 2010. Unfortunately we have no pets. We live on campus at SWBTS so we're not allowed to have pets. We have an open adoption with our dog Mario and his new family. He lives in Atlanta now. That was a very hard decision.
I work in downtown FW so I'm willing to see anyone between seminary drive and downtown (including hulen and camp bowie). Don't know if that helps. I'd probably go further if it was to see someone awesome. I've learned to expect at least a 20 min. drive for everything here lol!!
*Jumping in for just a second *
I live in SW FW and most of my girlfriends go to either Dr Adrianne Deem or Dr Heather Neville with this group http://www.whmg.net/ and they always rave about them. I personally haven't been to either one yet since I'm working with an RE, but as soon as I do get pregnant, I plan on switching to one of them. Good luck! Glad to hear you love FW!
*jumping back out*

T-TTC since Dec 2008. PCOS/nonexistant cycles(anovulation) and endo. HSG in '10 revealed both tubes blocked. Lap surgery in Dec '10 to correct. Failed Clomid/IUI and injectable(Bravelle)/IUI cycles so far.
They are actually really close to my apartment. I will have to check them out. Thanks!
Awesome! I seriously know at least 10 girls who see them. They constantly talk about how good they are. And all of these girls have had 1-2 kids (one is about to have her third and is one of Neville's patients) so they've been through pregnancy and childbirth with Deem and Neville and still love them lol

I think I actually live quite close to you. Dr. Deem is my doctor now as well and she's great! I would recommend her as well. Her office is right there where you work so it would easy for you to get there.

Terry, just south of Jackson.

Cool. We actually moved here from Jackson. Technically Ridgeland, but most people just know Jackson. It's about 15 min. north of Jackson.
Yup, I know it. We shop there a lot.
