  • Ok the REAL gift is that we paid for my sister to take a cookie decorating class at the place where we got our grooms cake (next year I will book earlier and do a cake one) She LOVES to bake.

The JOKE gift is that I got DH and I MATCHING polar bear PJ's which I know he will find beyond amusing. lol

  • I'm really excited to give DH his gift -- a propane single burner and 36-qt pot for brewing his beer and making ginormous pots of gumbo. Everyone at work is making fun of me because they said it's a "chore" gift (like a vacuum!) but I know he will love it.

p.s. Lindsay - I got DH a Mr. Beer kit for his bday and he has gotten completely obsessed with brewing. He even bought a chest freezer with a temperature regulator so it can be EXACTLY 72 degrees at all times (not so easy in Florida!).

  • Hmm I have a few great gifts this year:

    DH- another plane model!

SIL- New slipper boots, I bought her some like 10 years ago and she still wears them even though they're SO beat up. Definitely needs new ones.

Household gift- the Harry Potter movies in a box set! The kids and I will love it :-)

Love the gift and the chest freezer! Did I post a picture of my DH's Keezer? (it's a kegerator made out of a chest freezer) We have 4 taps filled with various beers and one with hard apple cider which is super easy to make!

  • My sister, Steph, just moved back here from California, so I got her a "California Girl's Nebraska Winter Survival Kit." : ) I have numbered the gifts so she has to open them in this order. Chap stick, lotion, mug (with her kids' picture on it) and hot chocolate packets, gloves that double as mittens, stocking hat, scarf and some nice charcoal-colored boots! I am so excited, and she is going to LOVE it! : )

Jeff I got him all kinds of stuff, and I think he will love it all.

I got my niece, Samie, her own barrette making kit. I think she will be REALLY excited! I got all of my nieces good stuff, and I just love watching them get excited!

  • well - obv i'm most excited to give DH card with baby sex in it.  lol after contemplating i've decided i will allow him a last min decision... so i will bring the card but also a smaller folded piece of paper inside and on the card tell him he has to really want it and swear he won't tell me.  and if so, open the lil piece of paper.  LOL i know he won't be able not to - it's really just a last min tell me and i beat you kind of thing...

and ps - i'm still really hoping for that telescope.  LOL he can be manipulative sometimes and yest in the store we saw a telescope and he's like oh you think my dad would like one?  i gave him a nasty glare - and he gave me the oh, too soon? line.  jerk.  but that could be part of his ploy... or i could just be being a typical girl and reading into everything... lol so we'll see.

pps - nothing wrong w/ pratical or "chore" gifts! LOL  almost every year I get DH something that's somewhat for "the house" PS3, surround sound...  lol

Ditto this! I usually use Black Friday to get deals on awesome "house" gifts that Jeff says counts towards my Christmas gifts. The last three years have been a new tv, last year was washer & dryer, and this year was the Dyson Animal. I know I would never just buy them for myself, so, it is my way of manipulating him into doing what I want...Ba Ha Ha! : )

  • DH's whole family is going in together to get our niece a swingset and I can't wait until she finds out. She is going to be so excited.

I'm pretty excited about DHs Blues hoodie that he is getting for Christmas and his jersey for his birthday.

My dad is a big hunter, so my siblings and I are getting him a new deer stand.  He will be pretty stoked about that.

  • I bought DH a really nice leather jacket and I am REALLY excited about it!  We also got DS a camcorder, so I am excited about that too!

DH has a friend that does it and he went over the other weekend when he was making a batch and was all excited about it. He's been talking about it non-stop since then! So I got him the "equipment" kit and a gift card to pick out his own ingredients box and my mom is getting him a carboy (the big glass jug).

  • I am excited to give all the kids (3 nieces, one nephew and Gracie) pillow mattresses similar to these found here: http://norestforthecreative.blogspot.com/2011/08/pillow-mattress.html

I found super cute fabric for each kid and I personalized it by putting their names on it!  Andy likes them so much he wants me to make one for him!  A Bama one perhaps??  Lol, I'll prob do it for his birthday!

  • I made my SIL a scrapbook of her wedding with the invitations and everything in there, so I hope she will like it!  I also made homemade messenger bags for my sister and step-sister in law (they are both 14-15) so I am pretty excited to give them that!

DH and I already exchanged gifts because were flying and didn't want to bring them on the plane, I got him an Xbox Kinnect which he LOVED!
