I had an appointment yesterday. I asked for an internal, mainly to irritate things to start, but also because if I was just on the verge, I'd stop working (I work 60 miles from the hospital). Induction will be a week from tomorrow.
Are there any keepsake items that you want to buy for baby? Bracelet? Cup? Spoon? Etc. I know these were big when some of us were born.
I buy an ornament for the tree, but that's it.

I did a scrapbook of Alex's first year, but I hate it and want to re-do it. Eventually I'll do one for this LO too, but probably not for a long time. I don't have anything that marks when accomplishments were achieved for Alex, so I won't do one for this LO either, just to keep my forgetfulness fair.

I have a blog I post on maybe monthly at this point. I'm not a good record keeper.

Alex plays with the Cabbage Patch Kid I got for Christmas when I was 4. I think that's it.

Not really! I have a standard appointment on January 6th and our anatomy scan on January 25th. Other than that, I'm just fighting the nausea and vomiting and trying to hang in there! Thankfully it's been better in the last few days, and I hope that trend continues.

I feel bad for saying this, but not really! I have things that are important throughout the first year (like a rosary on their baptism, a special ornament for Christmas, and a special birthday gift-- Natalie received a Tiffany necklace, for example)... but we don't have any traditional gifts for the birth of the child. That's kind of sad!

Yes, although I am not fabulous at keeping it current. I'm going to try harder this time.

Yes, and I am so glad! Looking back, it was great that I did that with Natalie and I'm glad I'm doing it again. I bought a specific Pregnancy Journal to do it.

Natalie has my old Cabbage Patch dolls. I am sure if we have a boy, Walt will want to bust out his old Star Wars stuff. In terms of baby items, the only thing we reused was my wooden rocking bassinet which my father refinished, but we only use it at my mom's.

I wrote one entry... :-( I used to journal a lot for my personal spiritual health... and my spiritual life sucks lately, so journaling feels like work to me, and I hate it. I had visions of this great journal and I just can't bring myself to do it.

The quilt from my nursery is going to hang in our nursery, and we have a few VT items from when DH was a baby, but otherwise, the rest is ugly. I had an appointment this morning and baby's HR was normal so I didn't have to go to L&D. She measured it while I was sitting up rather than laying on my back, so that may have made the difference. I have to go back tomorrow for labwork and then in again at 6am on Thursday for the c/s!

I wanted to get her some kind of silver bracelet with her name engraved on it but it's not in our budget so instead I handmade her an itty bitty tiny beaded bracelet.

As for scrapbooking, I'm still working on our wedding scrapbook, and haven't even started Kodi's yet. Someday I will scrapbook both kids' pictures.

More exhausted this week. We saw a heartbeat last Friday! There was also "an amphorous echogenicity," on the u/s the OB wasn't concerned about but said she'd feel more comfortable if I did another u/s, so I go back Friday. I have prenatal counseling tomorrow. I'm not all that excited since I literally just did it a couple of months ago.
