Straightner?
Okay, so my new hair cut kind of requires a straightner. I know a lot of you swear by Chi's but I'd like to hear all opinions.
Bill said that he really liked the way my hair looked last night and I told him it only looked that good thanks to an expensive straightner and a lot of expensive product. He then asked me if I wanted a new straightner (I have a $15 Target special). So, I guess I'm going to try to take him up on it. TIA--I have to run out for a while but I look forward to any information and discussion.
PS: I do have a 20% off my entire purchase to Ulta so I'd like to be able to get whatever it is there.

I have had a Hot Tools ceramic straightener that I got at Ulta for $70 for literally years. I can't even remember when I got it, it has been so long. And I've dropped it a million times. It gets hot, hot, hot.
That being said, I do recommend that you invest in a good one. Nothing damages your hair faster, take it from someone who knows.

I have a Chi. I have had it since my senior year of college and it is still going strong, but I only use it about once a week.
I ordered a new hair dryer from Folica (thank you Tiffany!) a few weeks ago and I got a Sedu straightener for free. I haven't used it yet so I can't really rec it, but my best friend has a Sedu hair dryer and swears by it. Just thought it could be another brand for you to think about/check out.
Babyliss Pro for me all the way. I'd never use a Chi again. Ever.

You've seen my crazy hair. I use Hot Tools as well. The Chi is nice, but my friends who have bought them recently have to replace them in a year or so. I've had my Hot Tools for years like Stephanie. I use it regularly and it hasn't had issues. I just recently actually bought my sister a replacement for hers which is 5 years old. Still works, but not as well as she would want for her really frizzy hair

I have started using "It's a 10" leave in conditioner. I really like it, but it is making it hard for me to wash my hair every other day because it kind of makes my hair greasy. Any suggestions? Maybe I am spraying too much?
Oh bummer. Do you just spray your ends? I divide my hair in two halves, I spray each side of the half once, so a total of four sprays and I only spray the ends, not close to the roots. Then I comb through all my hair, which in my mind is 'spreading it'.

ITA! I have this exact straightener (birthday gift almost 2 months ago from my fiance after the rotating cord detached from my old cheap one) and it is the best straightener I've ever had. I used a lot of different straighteners in college (borrowed from friends so I didn't have to buy my own) and none of them worked as well as this.

I have a Croc at home, and a Remington at work in my desk. For being cheap, the remington is pretty good, but I looooove my Croc.

but for hair protectant stuff, I love my spray from the big sexy hair line, it's called straight sexy hair straightening spray and it's pretty awesome. Sometimes all I do is spray that after blowdrying my hair and it calms down the frizzies without having to actually use the straightener. Also make sure you blow dry your hair in sections with a round brush, that helps straighten it a lot.
Thanks for the reminder about taking care of my hair because I don't want it damaged (I've made it this long without doing so). I'll take those recommendations into mind as well. I definitely won't be using it every day because I probably won't want to take the time every morning--I'll be wearing it curly probably 1/2 the time.
