Terrible Baby Name(s)

I'm looking on Etsy for some camo baby nursery shiit for my cousin's upcoming baby.

One, their baby name choice pisses me off, it's so made up. RASON. Like Jason, but with an R.

So I'm looking through camo shiit, and I come across some wall letters wrapped in yarn. The name they used in their sample picture?

JAYDENCE. like....Cadence, and Jayden, all rolled into one god awful name.

    Definitely read that like "Raisin" on my first try.  Calling a kid Rason just makes him sound like Jason with a speech impediment.  That's cruel.

  • Why these names suck:

    RASON = raisin

    JAYDENCE = jaundice

    Then again, if you've ever seen a brand-new newborn, maybe it's just truth in advertising.

  • Baby naming fail.

  • There are 9 bazillion awesome names to choose from.  You can be unique without saddling your child with a heinous name for the rest of his life.

    I love the name Cadence.  The names "Rason" (not a name) and "Jayden" need to die a painful death.

  • It's gotten to the point that I can't even hear "Aidan" - a perfectly nice name - without cringing.

    Just what I was thinking regarding the names.

  • Oh I know, when I was pregnant with DD, I heard all sorts of names that just made me go "I'm sorry what?" I don't see why people seem to think a unique name has to be made up or just weird. I know people who's names are no kidding, Arwen and Faramir. Yeah, that didn't get them beat up every day of their school lives.

    Yes unique can be fine, but to me unique can just be an older less used name and not a name that you've just changed letters in or smashed two names together for.

    Oh those names are TOTALLY made up -- by J. R. R. Tolkien!

  • Rason. lolololol

    Get him a dark purple wrinkly onesie and call it a day.

    Maybe with a little matching hat.

    Tolkien names were off the table when we named DS. For most people that would be a given. For my husband, it was a major decision.

  • Am I the only one who thinks of Scooby Doo saying the name "Jason"? Because that's the only way I can say it in my head.

    YES!!   That's exactly what I was saying in my head.   Ruh Roh Rason!

  • I heard a mom calling for her kid at a bouncy place this summer.  "Razor, Razor!!"  You know, the kind of name you give a mean dog.

    Razor.

    This is exactly what I thought of when I read that.
