TW Poll #3 - Christmas Past (clicky)

Re: TW Poll #3 - Christmas Past (clicky)
College, but it was also the year my sister decided to get married the day after Christmas. And everyone was sick. And there were way too many crazy grandmas under one roof, and the water heater crapped out, and it was all around a nightmare, save for the fond memory of me and my sissies sitting in a snow bank in my parents yard doing shots because 1) our grandmothers were driving us nuts and 2) they all insisted on having the heat set to tropical, and my Mom faux yelling at us only because she was jealous she had no snow pants to join us.
Ahhhh, memories.
Oh, it was also the year my Mom put some 6 dishes of prepared stuff on the roof of the minivan in the garage to chill, and my Dad went to Radio Shack (yeah, some fake battery emergency to get away from the heat) with the food on the roof of the car.
Fun times!
I totally want more stories of Rox doing shots to avoid family time!

So were you married before N's dad? I never knew that about you.

No, but I was engaged two other times.
Call me a bit impressed...you have had three engagements?! Seriously, I think that is pretty awesome for some reason - shows you that there are lots of fish in the sea and you must be some pretty good bait.

Engagement #1: I moved back to TX right after that Christmas to go back to Baylor. He was supposed to join me a few months later. I got back there and realized how young I was, how much there was for me to still do, and that I wanted to be single so I could go out with my friends. I ended it before he uprooted and moved.
#2: Unequivically the love of my life. We dated off and on for five years. I left for law school and he was supposed to join me in MT. He was done with all school except his student teaching and was trying to set it up in Missoula but UNM wouldn't let him. We tried long distance. Felt it didn't work. Tried it again. Very stressful. Went back and forth like this for three years of law school. I moved to CO and he was going to come up to see me, his car got totaled two days before he was supposed to come up so it got delayed. Then in the mean time I met someone here. Then we just lost touch. There is no doubt in my mind if we ever got back in touch again and were both single that we would start up again.
I was also proposed to one other time but he did it after I had already broken up with him a week prior. Showed up at my house unannounced dressed up like Elvis, did a really bad lip sync to "I want you, I love you, I need you." and begged me to reconsider and to marry him. Awkward.
And then my XH.
Whoa! N is in for some goood stories when he is going through tough times with girls and needs his mom to reassure him. (cuz we all know he is going to be a major ladies man)
