When do you put yours up? Normally the day after Thanksgiving, but it was a couple of weeks later this year before it got put up & we are decorating it tonight. DH has been gone & I didn't want to do it without him, so it just didn't get done.
Real or fake? Fake, I have allergies.
Do you have the same tree decor every year? Mostly. Our collection grows a bit every year.
Sentimental ornaments or no? Yes. We buy an ornament on every vacation. Plus we have several homemade ornaments.
White or colored lights? The tree is prelit with white. I like to add an extra string of lights or two, I think this year I might do colored, but we'll see what DH says, he prefers white.
Garland, ribbon or no? Red bead garland.
What tops your tree? A star. I don't really like our star anymore though, this'll probably be it's last year.
When do you put yours up? typically, the weekend after Thanksgiving, but the last two years I've waited a week for C's party

Sentimental ornaments or no? mostly no, but we do have a few and we're buying one for C each year

What tops your tree? usually an angel, but this year nothing. My new ribbon clashed with the angel and I didn't look for anything new.
When do you put yours up? week after thanksgiving, I usually go on Monday by myself when it's empty and employees are ready to help.
Real or fake? Real, unless one of my kids ends up allergic it will always be real

Sentimental ornaments or no? Yes all the way! we don't have any sort of matchy matchy tree, there are ornaments from when I was a kid, everything Addie makes, whatever we each pick each year, etc.

What tops your tree? A star that matches what the rest of my house decorations are this year. Usually gold or silver. This year the rest of the stuff is bright and modern, like pink, purple, lime green, etc. I change the tree skirt and star to go with the house. So the star is sliver and the tree skirt is purple/pink lame fabric.
Real or fake? Fake. I grew up with real, but DH wouldn't be able to breathe. I actually prefer the fake now.
Do you have the same tree decor every year? For the most part. Usually we've acquired more ornaments.
Sentimental ornaments or no? Yes, most of them are. Every time we take a trip we get a Christmas ornament from that place. Plus we have the baby's 1st christmas ones, etc.
White or colored lights? Both!
Garland, ribbon or no? Used to have bows I tied on them, but DH hates them so we didn't do them this year.
What tops your tree? A star that I don't love. I wish I could find the Pottery Barn Santa hat tree topper that they don't sell anymore. I love it!

When do you put yours up? Just after Thanksgiving. Because of finals, I was a little behind this year.
Real or fake? Fake. I grew up with real, but it just isn't worth it to me... the watering, the needles, the lights, etc.
Do you have the same tree decor every year? Yes, we love our mish-mash of ornaments, many are ornaments from our childhood, and we usually buy one each year to add, get a few as gifts, etc. I have several nice ones from Germany that are very special to me (my parents are both from Germany).

White or colored lights? White lights. Can't get used to colored lights, although here in Galveston they're growing on me on the cute little cottages... (never thought I'd say that!!)
Garland, ribbon or no? Neither on my tree at home - too many ornaments!!! But I put ribbon on the tree I decorate at work.
What tops your tree? I think two years ago we got a new topper. Used to be a blown glass santa. Now we have an adorable metal angel wearing a bikini and sarong skirt!
When do you put yours up? Usually the 2nd weekend in December.
Real or fake? Real. I'm allergic, but love the smell so I just boost my allergy meds as needed.
Do you have the same tree decor every year? Used to change the "theme" each year, but once the girls reached 1 and 3, respecitively, I bought a set of multi-colored, plastic ornaments so they wouldn't break.
Sentimental ornaments or no? Absolutely!! What's the point of having them if you don't use them??
White or colored lights? Colored! I love the look of white lights, which may be more classic or elegant, but I clearly recall loving the multicolored lights as a kid. I was so disappointed when my mom switched to all white....it was boring to my sister and me as kids. So, I vow to keep our tree colorful for as long as the kids enjoy it.

What tops your tree? We have 2 different toppers, and let the kids choose each year which to put up. This year, it's the simple, silver star.

A crown from Round Top (got it at Nutcracker Market) that says "Jesus is Born!". It is SO cute!
