Easy Knitted Infant Elf Hat

Does anyone have a link to an easy knitted Infant Elf Hat Pattern?

Kind like this one

I think this one is crocheted, but I have never crocheted.

Re: Easy Knitted Infant Elf Hat

  • That is crocheted. Honestly, if you know how to knit a simple hat, you can knit this type of hat- just slow down your decreases at the crown, and switch to I-cord when you get to the last set of stitches (where you would bind off- 6, 8, whatever) and make it as long as you want. Here's the one I did that way. :)

I switched to a braid after the I-cord, too.

Both Itty Bitty Hats and Baby Beanies (books you can probably find at the library- or pretty cheap on Amazon) have knitted hats that are a lot like it, too. You can see them on Ravelry.

ETA: A free pattern that should get you there if you need more hand-holding.

  • Google Munchkin Hat.

Thank you, cmeon, I've been wanting to make one of these two, and I'm still at the hand-holding stage. :) Totally loving knitting more than crocheting now too!
