There are so many negative posts on this board right now, I just want to spread some Christmas cheer.
I just made bourbon balls for the first time, to give out to my CWs for holiday gifts, and they taste just like Cocoa Puffs.
The world is full of wonders, people. Get out from under your awful marriages and go enjoy it.
Re: Bourbon balls
I made snickerdoodles and forgot to add a third of the flour, but I like them better like this... super super crispy and chewy. Christmas miracle!
You have my address - feel free to send some! :-)
I have never had a bourbon ball, but the name intrigues me, as it combines two of my favorite things.
Recipe please!
I used the recipe in the Joy of Cooking.
Combine: 2.5 c nilla wafers, crushed; 1 c coarsely chopped pecans
Whisk: 1/4 c bourbon, 2 Tb corn syrup
Sift: 1 c powdered sugar, 2 Tb unsweetend cocoa
Stir the bourbon mixture into the sugar/cocoa mixture, then add the cookie/pecan mixture. Shape into 1-inch balls. Roll balls in powdered sugar to coat. Keeps for weeks in a tightly covered container (and rumored to get better after a few days).
Oh yum, those sound awesome. Will you share the receipe fuss??
ETA - Whoops I see you posted it. Thanks!
