Taking a break from being poked and prodded

Re: It's been dead these last few days...

  • I agree!  I've been pretty busy at work trying to get stuff done before being off for a while but I've been trying to pop in and post too!
  • Baking cookies with my Mom, last minute shopping, getting the car repaired, getting the purchase agreement all squared away with the new house, wrapping presents, had a flat tire yesterday that needed tending to, Emma smacked her head and had to go to the E.R..... it's just been an insane week.

Sounds like a crazy week!  I hope Emma's OK!

Oh no, poor girl... is she ok?

  • Sorry.  I forgot to mention that Emma is alright!!

Long story short, after a long day of cookie baking at my parents' house, she fell asleep in the car on the way home. DH was carrying her in the house (on that super windy night, I think it was Thursday?) and was holding her with one hand while using the other hand to push our back gate open.  Right at that moment, she woke up, was startled, and kinda' fell back.  She hit her head on the brick half wall and it was bleeding pretty badly.  My parents met us at the hospital to get Lily, and we went to the ER.  Thankfully it was actually just a really bad scrape, but she didn't actually cut it open and therefore it didn't need stitches.  They said just to keep an eye on her, but she's been acting fine.

Super scary though! Thanks for the concern.

So happy to hear she is ok!

I have been working a bunch this week and when I work I can't post during the day much :(

That is so scary!!  I am glad to hear she is okay.  I have to admit that I am starting to get pretty paranoid now that Trent is starting to make his way around the room on the floor.  I know it's only a matter of time before he's crawling and climbing.  I am so not prepared for this!

I hope the rest of your week is much calmer, Ritzy!

  • Sarah! I'm glad to hear that Emma is okay!!!

I've been off work this week, just catching up on all of my Holiday things.  Right now I am sewing some stockings for a neighbor family and for my IL's.  I am also making a few fabric books, and other last minute xmas things!

  • I hardly ever have time to sit at the computer these days.  I do come on and read the posts from time to time, just to keep myself updated.  I have a few minutes now because I am off work until after the new year, so hopefully I can chime in a bit more.

I have soooooo enjoyed these last few days, just getting to relax at home.  Well, not really "relax" as in lay around, since you can't do that with a 7 month old.  But I'm still in my PJ's so I consider that a relaxing day even if I'm doing a bunch of stuff around the house!!

  • Glad to hear Emma is ok!

Ive been super busy at work trying to wrap things up before we close for the next two weeks for the holidays.  Looking forward to it!  Though I am working two days next week, but I wont be seeing any patients.  So that makes for easy work days.
