Grad School Update
Hello girls!
Hope everyone is enjoying the last days before the holidays. I for one, cannot WAIT to have a week and a half off, even if it means I don't get paid (boo)
I finished my FIRST semester of grad school and my grades got posted today and my GPA is a 3.44 which I am TOTALLY psyched about! I was really worried about one class because the professor's grading structure is really wonky, but it worked out ok!
Next semester should be interesting, I have technically 4 classes but 2 of them don't meet every week. One is a research methods class (bleck) that meets 3x in the whole semester, on the last friday and saturday of the month in jan, feb and march. 4.5 hours on friday and EIGHT hours on saturday. SOMEONE KILL ME NOW
Work is going fabulously. It's definitely exhausting work. My student Y has been having a rough few weeks. His home life is not very stable, and his Dad is going to be leaving for Morocco for the ENTIRE month of January. So the next month should be very very interesting.
I also start the process of securing my practicum for next year. I'm hoping to stay at my current school, and I'm going to try to see if they will hire me as a full time teacher for next year since they are adding 2 fgrades and it's a little up in the air if a few of the current teachers will be staying for next year. I have to see if its ok for me to do that in the parameters of my school, so cross your fingers I can make it happen! It will be a stressful year, but I'm ready for it! I just want to get out there and TEACH!
Tomorrow is the last day of school and it's our winter celebration. The kids are going to dress up and it's going to be the cutest thing EVER!
