My grandparents 60th anniversary is coming up - they live in Ft Myers. However, my mom decided we'd celebrate here and surprise them. My aunt and cousins (13, 14 and 15) are coming down from NY, so there will be 10 (+baby) of us going out for a nice dinner to celebrate. My grandparents aren't adventurous with food, so I think a steak/seafood house would be best. I want something with a nice view and comfortable seating for a group of 10. We'd probably go out around 5:30 on a Saturday so I'm not too worried about crowds. It looks like the main 3 are all right next to eachother - Morton's, Ruth Chris and Chart House. I've never been to any of them. Please recommend which you'd choose. Also, can you give me a ballpark on prices so I can let my mom know? I'm guessing they're all similar?
Thanks!
Re: Help your favorite Veg pick out a Steak House?
Ruth's Chris is by far my favorite. Yum. Morton's is good too, but I've only been there for a rehearsal dinner.
XH & I went for our anniversary one year. I think we spent about $100, but we did a $30 bottle of wine.
I am not a fan of Ruth Chris. They put way to much butter on their steaks for my taste. Mortons is like dungeon so you will not have a view there at all. Of the 3 you listed I would go to Chart House, which is more seafood but really good. They also have a really good salad bar for you.
Call me Paula Deen then because I think that's why I like them sooooo much. Melts in your mouth!
How is it that my BABY is going to be 3?

Just sent the link to my mom to take a look, I think this would be great!
My grandparents LIVE for chain restaurants. Their favorite is... throwup... Applebees. They just can't handle new menus, I think... so a steakhouse is our best bet. I wanted to go to Bistro AIX or Chew, but my mom thinks they'd get their panties in a bunch. Old people... grr...
I love Ruth Chris and there are some nice views. I agree that Mortons doesnt have any nice views. Chart House is also nice, but I had seafood there. If I remember correctly, all three should average about $25 - $40 per plate plus drinks.
If you choose Ruth Chris or Mortons, the main entree is priced separately from the sides. But the sides are big enough for 2 to share.
I like River City Brewing as well as III Forks as well. All excellent choices, and all are going to be about the same price.
Marker 32? We haven't been there yet, but I've heard good things!
I think Ashlee said they wanted to stay downtown though...
Marker 32 is awesome. And there is a Teal Deal. Go before it expires you will not be disappionted. If we can get a babysitter before it expires we will be going.
