Anyone not celebrating this weekend?

I did "holidays" with my family two weeks ago in Seattle and don't have plans for this weekend. BF and I are looking for something nice to do this weekend and I'm out of ideas. Is anyone not celebrating doing something fun? I was thinking about maybe going to a movie or something. Ideas?

Re: Anyone not celebrating this weekend?

  • DH's dad is having us over for a meal on Christmas day, but I don't consider that a technical celebration since we're Jewish and Hanukkah is going on all this week.

I am not sure what will be open on Christmas Day.  I know the movies are usually open, what about bowling?

  • Did you, your BF & DS already exchange gifts too?

There are several good movies coming out this week. I'm not sure much else will be open.

  • BF and I decided not to exchange gifts this year and DS got his gifts in seattle because he got a Nintendo 3DS and I wanted him to have it for the plane ride home. (plus my SIL got him games for it, and that would have been difficult if he did not receive it until Xmas).

I think we may just do the movies, or a nice dinner out somewhere. We've kind of overspent this month because of gifts / travel, so Im trying to keep it cheap.

  • Pookie, I love that you took Mungee to meet Santa.  It made me laugh.
  • cook a nice meal

    watch holiday movies

    string popcorn

    go to a church service

drive around and look at lights

have hot apple cider, cocoa, and apple pie

    bake holiday cookies

Not doing presents really only changes like an hour of the day, no?

Did you get your ereader like you thought? What did he think of the towel warmer?

  • Any good areas to check out lights? We did a nights of lights tour about 2 weeks ago, but it might be fun to go back as tourists and do the whole sightseeing tour trolley thing.

It wasnt so much the exchanging of presents as much as its spending an afternoon with the family, chatting, drinking, etc.

Yes, BF gave me a nook before we left for Seattle so I could read on the plane. Love it! And instead of a towel warmer, I ended up getting him this thing called a WiFli. Its basically a mini helicopter that has an app for your iPad or iPhone which is the controller. Once BF saw it in target he was giddy as a school boy, so I couldnt resist and had to get it. He loves it!
