Re: Need last minute holiday help? SantaJoaquin is here.
Dear SantaJoaquin,
My housemate mentioned something she wanted the other day so I bought it for her for Christmas. Last night I found out she bought a better version of it for herself. 4 days before Christmas! WHO DOES THAT!?! So what should I do? Unwrap and return my gift for something else 3 days before Christmas? She is impossible to shop for because she has EVERYTHING already.
Balls.
SCC, SantaJoaquin thinks your roommate is a weirdo. Give her the gift but include the gift receipt, and if you feel weird about it get her a supplement gift of peppermint bark or some sh*t.
If you really feel like you need to make the exchange yourself, do it and get her a gift card to either amazon or a big box store like Target.
You are the best Santa ever.
I have another question: H and I will be alone for Christmas. What should we eat on Christmas morning for breakfast? We are not big bakers, and I don't like chocolate chips.
Smock, can't you just call your parent and get all their addresses?
I'd send them all magazine subs tailored to their interests.
Excuse me, is your name SantaJoaquin? I didn't think so.
Anyway, that's a good idea, but I'd rather just say they can eat the chocolate basket (they'll all be at my dad's house xmas morning) and not get them anything else, and not feel guilty about it.
Smock, SantaJoaquin is tempted to not answer because not liking chocolate chips is crazy talk.
However, she suggests a make-ahead frittata with red & green peppers (festive!), with some cheddar cheese and english muffins, and mimosas, or martinis with a green olive stuffed with pimento if you want to keep up the red & green theme. She'd also suggest you add green onions to the frittata, because those are her favorite food, but that's up to you.
Oh, I also don't like onions.
But we do have some prosecco so I will add orange juice to the shopping list! Thanks, SantaJoaquin!
P.S. I think this thread is turning into another "smock being difficult" threads. Sorry. :P
SantaJoaquin,
I got my father and brother/sis-in-law two gifts each, but only got my mom one. Does this mean I love her less? Will she start to breathe fire and put a cap in my azz? If so, how to remedy the situation?
