I got Steve's "big" present this morning. He thinks I already got his big gift because he gave me an idea for something and saw a box from that store get delivered one day. Little does he know that I had an awesome coupon and got the first thing for 50% off.
This morning I went out and got him a subscription to the COD Modern Warfare super elite whatever you call it online thing. It has a bunch of extras and maps etc. for him to use in his gaming. He asked for it months ago, but we couldn't swing it and I said "maybe for Christmas". He thinks I forgot because ever since the big box came he's been hinting at getting the subscription after the new year.
I'm going to put the registration code on a sheet of paper and roll it in a COD modern warfare t-shirt and put it in his stocking. I can't wait to see his face!
Re: cool wife points
That's awesome!
I love it when you can genuinely surprise someone for Christmas. And good work on getting 50% off of the other item.
Yeah... Call of Duty. It's one of those war games that's entirely too realistic for me, but he loves it.
I really wanted to get him something fun since he always asks for regular stuff for Christmas and birthdays... ties, work clothes, etc. This year he wanted a nice bathrobe. I can't make that fun no matter how much I try. Hopefully this thing will be something really fun for him to use.

David looooooves his COD elite subscription thingy. Before we got it, I was skeptical, but he ends up playing with his friends and cousins far away and has full conversations with them while they play, just like they were talking on the phone catching up. So I am actually grateful that he gets to spend that time with them enjoying something.
COD in general is how David unwinds/destresses/comes back to reality after shifts, so it is totally worth it for us.
I'm stealing your idea :-P R wants to give his GP's the $ to get their new carpet so I suggested that we put it in an envelope inside a box with one of those carpet squares. He loved it :-)
