I just got home from mailing out thank you cards to all of my students who gave me gifts today. As usual, I had some pretty generous parents and super thoughtful students who gave me some great gifts. I even had a student from last year bring a box full of homemade goodies specifically addressed to me. I'd never had a former student give me a gift before and it made me cry.

I feel so lucky to do the job that I do.

Re: So spoiled
That's awesome! I got stuff from 4 of my students. More than I was expecting.
One student make me a fleece tie blanket for the baby. She is one of the last kids I would expect to do something like that, so it was super unexpected and so sweet. I got some chocolates too.

I love when parents do that. I teach 10 year olds, so they write me little notes and make me cards all the time that tell me I'm awesome. I have a wall full next to my desk.haha Getting a nice note from the parent is really special, though.
