Hi Everyone--
I'm new here to the board
I started a blog recently detailing my divorce (from a narcissist) in an effort to help other women (or men) who are going through the family court system. I represented myself in a 2.5 year divorce and hellish custody battle.
Through this battle, I learned the meaning of perseverance and while I felt like giving up so many times...I didn't. I succeeded in my goal of protecting my daughters from a dangerous man-- my ex-husband.
I am always open to feedback or giving my advice (if needed). Through my journey, I was blessed with many "angels" and if I am able to "pay it forward" then I will gladly do it.
Thank you for taking the time to read about my story--

Re: My Divorce
I am actually here to connect with other people who have had similar experiences. I do not generate any type of income from my blog nor do I intend to in the future. I was just introduced to this board by another member who is a friend.
Sorry, but from your OP it was hard to tell. Welcome.
bNg, that was a little harsh.
Welcome to the board, OP.
I apologized. It was a sincere question, but of course it's hard to convey tone on a message board.
Sincere apology: I'm sorry that my initial response was biitchy.
ETA: In my defense, I really didn't know wether you were an actual person wanting to participate on the board, or if you were a person that was just advertising and were never going to show your face here again.
I wondered the same as BNG
welcome to the board
Welcome. I read your blog and am now following it. Thank you for sharing your story.
Welcome!
Curious about your story... what made you decide to forgo legal representation in what sounds like a dangerous situation for your kids?
Hi and welcome! Congrats on your divorce and custody battle! Stick around, this board is very helpful
Have you read "Who's Pulling YOUR Strings?" It's a great book about manipulators, how to spot them and learn how not to be a target.
Thanks, everyone.
Yes- initially, (beccaga) who I do not know...posted my blog on a single moms forum but my good friend Michelle (not sure of screen name) has been encouraging me to join for quite some time. So...here I am!
In regards to the question about why I didn't choose legal representation-- financially, it was out of the question. We lost both of our once-thriving businesses and our home-- at the same time, I discovered that my ex-husband had put us in $600,000 worth of debt behind my back. I basically went from a 4,200 square foot home to an old, tiny apartment (with a brief stay at the Women's Shelter in between). We lost everything.
Thanks for the kind comments-- Tina
No-- I haven't but I am always open to book recommendations. Thank you!
I am so glad to see that you are on here! I emailed you the other day and I think you've been following my blog!
Welcome, welcome! This board is great support, but sometimes people do give a side eye to posts about blogs. I have read most of your blog and your story is amazing!
I've read that book and it's fantastic. Another great read is "The Sociopath Next Door". After reading some of your blog your ex seems to display many of these characteristics (as does mine).
achase recommended the "Who's Pulling Your Strings Book" --sorry to steal your rec A
She's a great recommender!
Hi!!! Yes, thank you for your email-- it really touched me. So happy to connect with you on here also!
I will have to learn the forum etiquette (and I have no clue what "OP" means!). I'm a quick learner-- I promise.
I think there is an FAQ at the top to give you abbreviations. OP is original poster (the person who wrote the post) pp or pp's are previous posters (who commented on the thread). DB is douchebag and a big one around here
OP = Original Post
Be prepared for lots of laughs, crazy dating tales, oversharing, and, of course, TMI on this board!
Mine is also suspected bipolar however, he won't get diagnosed because he knows more than the doctors...
During the triathlon season, he is an extreme athlete. During the off season he is an extreme alcoholic. Fun times, eh?
