Man, it's slow here on the lead-up to the holidays.
How is everyone today?
QOTD: If you and H or your SO were to spend the holidays alone together (no family, babies, etc.), what would be your ideal way to spend them?
ETA: For those of you who don't have SOs, what would your ideal holiday getaway be?

Hello there. This is my second to last day before maternity leave and I don't really have all that much to do. I'm going to leave early and do some grocery shopping.
QOTD: If it were just H and I, I think we'd alternate between two things: We'd spend one Christmas skiing, and stay in a cozy log cabin with a fireplace. Or we'd go to some beach resort somewhere and take in some sun.
Morning sunshines. The agenda includes a doc appt this morning, finishing Christmas shopping for my parent's/sibling's gifts and cooking another freezer meal today.
Was kind of hoping baby would decide to show up before Christmas...hey a girl can dream right?!
QOTD: Considering this just may be the one and only year we get to spend the holidays alone (if my parents don't come up to visit), I guess we should do something fun together. Because we celebrate Christmas with my set of divorced parents and usually host Hanukkah at our house, we are constantly traveling around the US for the holidays.
I'd like to spend at least Christmas Day volunteering this year, but I doubt DH is going to allow that given my current state. In a perfect world, we'd go skiing during the holidays.

Good morning! I'm hoping baby makes it here before xmas!
The cleaning lady I booked just arrived. I'm trying to be optimistic, but I don't know about this one. She loses major points off the bat for smelling like smoke, bothers me even without baby here and will bother me more with baby here. Also, not quite sure she's going to be willing to get under the furniture due to her age. We'll see how this turns out. Next option will be to ask for someone different from this agency or try the ones that clean the common area in our building as I was just given their info.
QOTD: Hmm...maybe a trip somewhere. Otherwise I think we would plan a nice day at home and a nice dinner out. Due to the size of our families, I don't think it's ever very likely that we will get a holiday alone.
That would kill me. I'm calling FastKlean to come after the New Year again even though I'm not convinced of their service. I'm going to try one more time and see what happens.
Hi! Busy day here! :-) I'm off from work, hooray!
I had a nice lazy morning, and started to do some packing and laundry. Met up with some friends for lunch and now we're back home to finish packing. DH wants to run to the souq for some last minute gifts and I just want to stay home :-P
QOTD: We've actually spent the past two Christmases on our own, and we enjoyed it! We went to dinner at one of the nicer hotels, and just stayed home on Xmas.
Our best Christmas was the river cruise to the Christmas Markets and I want to do that again!!

My Doha Adventures
Today is our last full day in the UK before going home for Christmas. I had a doctor's appointment this morning and am at work now. We are closing the office at 2:30 p.m. yay! Off to the gym and dinner out with friends tonight!
QOTD: Last year it was just DH and I. We had a lovely dinner in and watched Christmas movies and went for a long walk. It had just snowed here and was lovely. We did really enjoy it.
I'm so happy it's Thursday! I have a lunch date (my second with the same man this week) and then going out for dinner with a friend I met through work tonight.
QOTD: SO or not, I like being with my family for the holidays. Perhaps this will change when I meet a SO I'd rather spend time with than my family (XH was a PITA during the holidays). Good good, family and booze are all I need for the holidays
Good afternoon! This morning I went to a mom's group and had a great time! I think I'll make some good friends there. I also did some last minute shopping for Christmas...only a couple more days! Now I'm tired and am just watching Friends.
QOTD: I'm not sure. We might travel somewhere with lots of snow. That would be H's ideal Christmas I'm sure.
Afternoon. Just taking a break from cleaning, off to pick up some last minute gifts at the Royal Mail office that my family sent for D, and then a cookie baking marathon.
QOTD: The perfect holiday for us would be holed up in a log cabin that's decked out in full Christmas decor, completely snowed in with the fireplace lit, hot tea and a blanket.
Just working today. One more day before unemployment. Not sure how I feel about that. I'm not totally devastated because I do have someone to pay my bills for me, but I have never been more than a few months without a job since I was 13 years old. I have to admit that I'm kind of looking forward to a few weeks with nothing to do.
QOTD: If it were just FI and I - I would like to rent a cabin in the N. GA mountains (my favorite place in the world!). Ideally it would be snowing, and we could spend the day playing in the snow. Then come in and spend some time "warming up" *wink* before cooking dinner. Then settle down with some white hot chocolate while we watch the Christmas classics (Rudolph, Grinch, Frosty, etc..) before opening presents and have dessert!
