Anyone have electric heat? I have a ?
We're house hunting in the Allentown area. One house in particular is 2200 sq ft and has all electric heat. It's bank owned so I can't get any utility bill info.
If you have electric heat, can you tell me what your average monthly electric bill is? I'm not sure what the electric rate is in Philly but it cant' be too far off of what ours is, and the seasonal temps are probably about as close as I can get.
Re: Anyone have electric heat? I have a ?
Since electricity is now deregulated in PA, the rates vary, depending upon the company you choose to generate your electricity. Check out the Public Utility Commission's website for a full listing of electric generation companies in the Allentown area:

I'm not asking about electric choice, I am already aware of that. I know the rates can vary between generation companies.
I am curious to know someone's average monthly electric bill if they have electric heat. We have oil heat right now.
We have a 1700 square foot split level. In the cold months it is between 200-250. In august with the AC on every day, one month it hit 325. This months bill was $230. HTH, we are in bucks county and keep our heat between 68-70 degrees.
In october it was $126, and in november it was 123.
