Re: Poll: Christmas Presents!

  • I am really excited about the presents we got my niece & nephew in TX.  My BIL (their dad) went to CU-Boulder, and this kids are REALLY into swimming (they are both club swimmers, swim in state level swim meets, etc).  I got them both CU-Boulder swimming caps (which you can't buy outright b/c apparently it is a violation of the NCAA recruiting policies (?), but instead I was able to sweet talk my way with the team's treasurer to make a donation to the team in my BIL's name & she sent me 2 caps for the kids.  So I'm excited for BIL to see the donation was made in his name to his alma mater & the kids will LOVE the caps! :)
no identifiable siggy pictures anymore, thanks a lot stupid nest!
  • Well it's coming from Santa, but the Playmobil Zoo.   N has been absolutely obsessed with this since August and for the past couple of days he can't stop talking about it.  He's so positive he's getting it that I'm probably going to hide the present so he opens all the rest of his presents first and let him think he's done but didn't get it.  Then I'll pull an A Christmas Story on him and say "hey wait, what's that over there?"  The kid is seriously going to freak out when he finally gets his hands on this.

Have you seen the Jimmy Kimmel "Worst gift ever"?  I'm thinking that would be awesome to pull on DD right out of the gate :)

  • I got my brother some Wookie the Chew stuff.  I hope it gets here!
  • Santa is bringing DD a basketball hoop and she's going to flip!  She's been asking for one since August.

I'm excited to see DH's reaction to the flask I bought him, even though it was a silly, impulse purchase.

And while I won't be there to see, I'm excited to hear how the family likes the frames that DD painted for them.

  • I can't wait until DD1 opens her plush Max from Tangled. She looooves that movie! For DD2, I think she's going to be so excited about the Sesame Street playset that we got her.

The two gifts I think DH will be most happy with are one of the small ones, and one big one: the Starbucks mug I got him that will get filled for free the whole month of January, and a fancy new watch.

And I wish I could be there to see BIL's face when he opens up the framed art I ordered for him off of Etsy. He's a chiropractor, and I found a vendor that prints classic anatomy textbook drawings on vintage dictionary or encyclopedia pages. They look very cool and would be awesome at home or in his office. I was very proud of myself on that gift!

  • Well, I got DH an iphone 4s for his bday/christmas and gave it to him on his bday. Strictly speaking Christmas, I wish we could be with his mom when she opens her kindle fire. I think she's going to be very excited!

Holy cow, we're going to have a little sister!! BabyFruit Ticker
  • Dh thinks I got him slippers, coffee, and underwear. The box that he thinks contains underwear has an iPod nano in it, and I can't wait for him to open it. For once I've managed to keep it a secret. I know my sister hates everything, but I got her the most gorgeous dress from Anthropologie on sale. She might still hate it, but I think it's so beautiful and dh thinks it's very "her" so we'll see. I know my mom will love her silly sparkly earmuffs since that's what she asked for.

  • We didnt do much this year with the new baby. DH really wanted a ceiling mounted pullup bar though (he is concerned about losing his "baby weight", lol) so I am excited to give him that.
  • I created a "snow day survival kit" for my brothers family. It has a blanket, movie popcorn, a card game, cookie mix & some other stuff. I think it's pretty neat :)
  • Finn got a big wheel and a ton of cool presents but I'm ridiculously excited to give him his stuffed Chica from Sprout.

  • Tomorrow is DDs birthday, and she's getting a Fisher Price digital camera and I know she'll freak about that.

My parents are giving her the loving family tree house and all the stuff to go with it, and she's going to be so psyched.

And she'll wake up to her new pink two wheeler.

Santa will bring her the Squinkie Mall she's wanted and talked about non stop since October. I think she'll be impressed Santa remembered.

I'm totally psyched for DH to open up his Space Mountain monorail accessory, since we said we wouldn't be getting presents this year save for a sofa.

  • I am most excited to give DH some of his gifts. I got him a year of beer from a local brewery and I know he is going to be over the moon. I also got him the free january coffee cup from starbucks (thanks lite-bright!.)

We got my dad a magnetic digital picture frame to put on his tool box at work and load it full of pictures of G and my nephews.

Mostly I am just excited to see the look on G's face when she wakes up with presents under the tree. She has been really into Santa this year. So I guess it would be the magic.

  • BIL has gotten into pocket watches. He buys old ones online and fixes them so we got him a display case that's really nice. We all chipped into get MIL a bread maker. She can't have soy and it's almost impossible to find bread without it so we all thought she might like being able to make her own.

  • I'm really looking forward to my MIL and FIL's "present." They requested not to receive presents so we made them cherry cordials from scratch (FIL's favorite) and I donated money in their name to my favorite charity, Give Kids The World. I think they'll both tear up and I love it ;)

We also got our niece and nephew a hydroponic venus fly trap kit!
