I might DD this.
My niece is 12, and is starting to get into clothes. She asked specifically for a Northface jacket this year for Christmas-it's $100.
I was at Costco and called my sister and asked her if I should pick up a coat for her. She said "Well, she really wants this Northface Jacket, but I'm not sure if I can swing it..." implying that maybe my other sister and I can "go in together" and get her this jacket.
I'm pissed. This is the ONE THING my niece wants, and my sister "can't afford it." Keep in mind, she just flew to Denver to go to the Bronco game, PAID FOR ANOTHER PERSON TO GO WITH HER, and "can't swing 100 bucks" for her own daughter.
I called my mom raging, She (mom) went and bought the jacket and my other sister and I are also putting in for it. We also bought her other presents (before the coat debacle).
I don't get it. Why wouldn't you put your child first? She got a new job that pays a good amount of money (I helped with her budget). I don't know what the hell she spends her money on, but it's not her daughter because she's still wearing jeans that don't fit her (too short). ![]()

I agree. I'm glad she has you to look out for her. That must be really frustrating to have to watch.
