Santa's Elves

Recently, I got into a car accident. The very next day I got into another as a result of the previous one (I'm not taking my car to the shop until tomorrow morning). I guess before I tell you guys anymore, I should tell you that I started a job at Cinco Credit Union a few weeks ago. I've made it a habit to not discuss my financial problems at work.

Anyways. With the accident, it will cost $500 to get the car fixed. I was also the one at fault so I got the ticket. Luckily, the second accident was on private property. And it seriously left a barely-there scratch on her car. I was already hurting for money and the only gift I planned on purchasing this year was my mom's. She deserves it the poor gal. My brother deserves something....but his needs to be extravagant. He just graduated college, and he's been nothing short of a saint to any of us.

Our office decided to have a potluck on Tuesday...my plans were to bring a taco dip. Well the time started rolling around (now this is before the accident) and bills popped up I just had to get out of the way. So on Monday I told them I wouldn't be able to bring anything. I didn't say why. Tuesday came and everyone had brought a dish. I didn't want to eat because I felt guilty. I figured if I didn't contribute, how is that fair?

As I said before, I don't discuss money issues at work! I never gave them a reason why I couldn't bring it. I just said I couldn't. Today, one of the girls, my friend who actually helped me get the job, texted me and told me she wanted to come over after work because the elves got me something.

She showed up with boxes and bags of food and  paper products. She hands me a card that said "From the tellers". Seriously I almost cried...I have never been more grateful in my life. I've only known these people for a few weeks! And here they are reaching out to someone in need. I honestly thought that maybe they didn't like me lol. I just wanted to share this with someone. I will definitely be paying this forward!
