Re: Friday Five
1. What is your favorite aspect of the holiday season? (i.e. shopping for gifts, seeing family not normally seen, going to holiday parties, etc) The lights and decorations! I just the spirit of the season.
2. If you had a holiday candle that could be any smell that reminds you of the holidays, what would its scent be? Why that scent? Cinnamon. I always smell those cinnamon brooms in stores and it always reminds me of Christmas time.
3. Do you go shopping for post Christmas sales? Nope.
4. What time off work do you and/or DH get? I have a half day today and all day Monday. H will be out of the office Monday, but he's on-call to answer questions from the driver on -call.
5. Plans for the weekend? Any travelling? Staying home and relaxing. H and I are not going anywhere and plan to spend a quiet Christmas at home, just the 2 of us and our furbabies.
1. What is your favorite aspect of the holiday season? (i.e. shopping for gifts, seeing family not normally seen, going to holiday parties, etc) I love seeing and spending time with family and attending holiday parties.
2. If you had a holiday candle that could be any smell that reminds you of the holidays, what would its scent be? Why that scent? I love that cinnamon/cranberry scent. It smells so good and just feels very warm and homey
3. Do you go shopping for post Christmas sales? Not typically
4. What time off work do you and/or DH get? We are getting out 2 hrs early today and closed Monday. However, I'm leaving today at 12:30 to go to the Dr (I have an awful cold) and I'm off Tuesday & Wednesday as well. DH is just off on Monday.
5. Plans for the weekend? Any travelling? Tonight I am resting up and finshing my last minute wrapping. Tomorrow we are going to Christmas Eve at 2 diff aunt/uncle's houses (my mom's brother, then my dad's brother) and on Sunday we'll spend the morning/afternoon at my parents for lunch and the late afternoon/evening at my BIL's for dinner. It'll be a busy weekend, but I love it!

April Nesties March siggy challenge: Next Vacation, Anguilla!!
1. What is your favorite aspect of the holiday season? (i.e. shopping for gifts, seeing family not normally seen, going to holiday parties, etc) I love shopping for gifts and wrapping. I get into such the spirit of giving and coming up with creative ideas for things that people would like and use.
2. If you had a holiday candle that could be any smell that reminds you of the holidays, what would its scent be? Why that scent? Evergreen for the live trees we had growing up (we have an artificial tree b/c DH had one already). I miss that smell so much!
3. Do you go shopping for post Christmas sales? No, I guess the pain of spending for the presents this year makes it hard to go spend for next year, and storing stuff for a whole year. Maybe I'll go buy cards and wrapping paper/ seasonal stuff though this year.
4. What time off work do you and/or DH get? I get off Monday and Tuesday! We get Christmas day and the day after Christmas too!. I took of Friday and have next Monday off for New years so I have two four day weekends in a row, with a two day work week in between. Heaven!!
5. Plans for the weekend? Any travelling? The kids are at their mom's Christmas eve for the day til after dinner, so DH and I will have the day to ourselves. Christmas day I'm having my dad and grandma over, the kids will be with us Christmas day and if DH's mom is feeling up to it she might join us too. Should be a lovely weekend!

1. What is your favorite aspect of the holiday season? (i.e. shopping for gifts, seeing family not normally seen, going to holiday parties, etc) I love Christmas music, eating all of the yummy food I don't normally indulge on, and giving gifts! : )
2. If you had a holiday candle that could be any smell that reminds you of the holidays, what would its scent be? Why that scent? Hmm...I have a Cranberry candle that reminds me of Christmas every time I smell it. Mainly, because I got a Cranberry candle at Christmas during high school one year, and I remember sitting in my room (all decked out with Christmas lights) in the dark talking with my then boyfriend on the phone. He is still a good family friend, so it is a happy memory I am brought back to...
3. Do you go shopping for post Christmas sales? On-line sometimes
4. What time off work do you and/or DH get? I get off at NOON today, Jeff gets off at 5, and we both have Monday off. So excited!!!
5. Plans for the weekend? Any travelling? Both of my sisters and their families get here today. We will celebrate my niece's birthday tonight, then Christmas Eve stuff tomorrow. They leave Christmas morning after Santa's presents, so it is just Jeff and I Christmas Day. My best friend has invited me out to her family's farm for crab legs with her family...I might just have to go...
SO jealous of you ladies who get off a half day today :-( I had thought about doing that but used my time otherwise. AND super jealous of your crab legs invite!!! I LOVE crab legs!

I am really excited about it...they get Alaskan Kings and they buy so much it is literally all you can eat...plus TONS of other food!!!
1. What is your favorite aspect of the holiday season? (i.e. shopping for gifts, seeing family not normally seen, going to holiday parties, etc): Shopping on Black Friday & spending Thanksgiving weekend with my sister and bro in law while they're in town. Also the time spent with my family as a whole, and my in laws as well.
2. If you had a holiday candle that could be any smell that reminds you of the holidays, what would its scent be? Why that scent? Probably balsam because it reminds me of pine trees and I associate that with Christmas.
3. Do you go shopping for post Christmas sales? Yep. That's my "self-spoiling" shopping time.
4. What time off work do you and/or DH get? DH gets the day before Xmas Eve and the day after off, as well as NYE. I have to take vacation time, but since Christmas is on Sunday we are closed on Monday.
5. Plans for the weekend? Any travelling? Dinner with my dad's family tonight, church at 4 and dinner over my cousins' tomorrow, dinner with ILs on Christmas day. Everyone is local!

4. What time off work do you and/or DH get? Lucky for me I get the whole next week and Monday - where Sami would typically have to work BUT the job is on/ahead of time schedule wise, so he actually gets and entire week off too! we are so excited!
5. Plans for the weekend? Any travelling? PATS GAME TOMORROW... AND NEXT SUNDAY!!!! Otherwise just festivities and enjoying our last year as a family of two... yikers.

1. What is your favorite aspect of the holiday season? (i.e. shopping for gifts, seeing family not normally seen, going to holiday parties, etc) I love seeing my family, especially my niece and nephew. I also love giving gifts to everyone!
2. If you had a holiday candle that could be any smell that reminds you of the holidays, what would its scent be? Why that scent? the smell of snow!
3. Do you go shopping for post Christmas sales? I might pick up a few things, but nothing in particular.
4. What time off work do you and/or DH get? After today, I'm off until January 3!! Yesss! DH is off all week next week too except for Tuesday and Wednesday. I can't wait to spend the week with him!
5. Plans for the weekend? Any travelling? Christmas Eve is at my sister's house, where we'll have dinner and watch the Cowboys game. Later that night, DH and I will go to my mom's to exhange gifts. We'll spend Christmas morning together, and will then head to DH's grandparent's house for their family Christmas. Christmas dinner is at my mom's. Lots of running around, but I'm looking forward to seeing all our family

1. What is your favorite aspect of the holiday season? (i.e. shopping for gifts, seeing family not normally seen, going to holiday parties, etc) A bunch of our friends always get together Christmas Eve, so that's always fun - more so this year since two of them had babies in the last couple months!
2. If you had a holiday candle that could be any smell that reminds you of the holidays, what would its scent be? Why that scent? For some reason the first thing that sprung to mind is hot chocolate, I guess because I drink that a lot in the winter.
3. Do you go shopping for post Christmas sales? Eh, not much. My sister's bday is in early January so usually I get something for her, and this year I'm going to keep an eye on baby gear that goes on clearance.
4. What time off work do you and/or DH get? I get a lot. I have been off since Tuesday of this week since I had more vacation time left than I could carry over, and then my company is shut down as of today through January 3rd. DH gets hardly anything, just Monday off. But he works from home and expects next week to be really slow.
5. Plans for the weekend? Any travelling? Lots of plans... tonight we are going to services and a Hanukkah party at my friend's temple, since we don't belong to one. Tomorrow we are going to our friends' house for a big get-together with several other friends, and we'll be spending the night there. We'll come back Christmas afternoon and then my mom and sister are coming up to do the movie and Chinese food thing.

4. What time off work do you and/or DH get? Since I work for a school, I have 2 weeks off. DH has his usual 4 days off which just happen to fall perfectly, tomorrow thru Tues.!!

I think it would be peppermint hot cocoa scented!

DH is working from home all week, and might go the office a few times. I'm off until Jan 3rd and I don't intend to think about a THING that's work-related until that day!

No travel for us, just going to see family in NY both days (about 30 min away)
