Organizing multi-destination flight

I am taking my sister to Glasgow with me for her birthday. She's a junior in high school (when we leave she will be 17). So I am trying to organize the flights so that we can take the long flight over seas together. I live in OH and she lives in MA. Is there a website that can find a flight for me from OH to Boston to Glasgow (or Heathrow to Glasgow) and one for her on the same flights from Boston to Heathrow to Glasgow? I really want us to be on the same flights because she has a learning disability and really won't be able to navigate an airport herself.

TIA!

  • ETA: I don't want to just buy a ticket to Boston because it will be so much more expensive than buying one to Glasgow that connects in Boston.

  • believe expedia or travelocity will allow you to choose different combos of flights/layover areas.

  • Just book two itineraries--the first Ohio-Boston-Glasgow and the second Glasgow-Boston.

It's easy to make sure you are on the same flights because when you search flights the flight number will be shown. Just make sure they match. It shouldn't be too hard to do that because I doubt there are many Boston-Glasgow flights a day (or do you have to go through London...I don't know).

Then you can call the airline and get your itineraries linked if it's important to you that you sit next to one another.

  • PP is correct.  It doesn't look like there are direct Boston to Glasgow flights.  You can only fly direct from New York or Philly.

My favorite search engine right now is Hipmunk - it makes it really easy to compare different departure destinations, cost, flight time, etc.

Looks like you have a bunch of options including British Airways, Aer Lingus, Delta/KLM, Continental/United.

If you choose the two itineraries that you want and book them back-to-back, you shouldn't have any problems.  AA lets you put itineraries on hold, but I'm not sure if any of the above do.  If the carrier doesn't charge a telephone booking fee, call and make the reservations over the phone at the exact same time.

  • Thanks everyone. Priceline's multi-destination tool doesn't work very well, but hipmunk is great. Thanks for the tip!

  • Call a travel agent.  This is one of those p.i.t.a. situations where a professional will make your life SOOOOO much easier.
