Happy early holidays ladies!! Anyone have any plans?
DH and i leave this afternoon for NH. We're trying something new this time in taking the MetroNorth train to Waterbury, CT and the ILs are picking us up. I think it's too far and inconvenient for them to drive (it's over 2.5hrs both ways!!), but DH thinks they need a bit of a road trip and they like spending time with us. So i can't complain.
We'll be in NH for about a week and we don't have too much planned. We're trying to see some friends, but nothing is set in stone yet. It'll be nice to not have homework to do while we're there. I'm going to catch up on magazines and crocheting.
We'll be back for New Year's but we don't have plans. All i want to do is go see ABT's Nutcracker before it closes.
Re: Holiday plans?
We don't celebrate Christmas, but we do New Year's Eve (that's the big one in Russia). We're having both my and DH's families over to our house that night for dinner/presents/sparklers/champagne. DH took Friday off, so that we can cook and prepare for everybody. My sister is coming over on the 1st too (or we might all go to my parents' house I'm not sure yet).
As for this weekend, some friends are coming over to hang out on Saturday, Sunday we'll be back in Brooklyn for a "holiday Circus" for DD, then eating latkes at my grandma's, then Christmas lights. Sunday, my parents (and possibly DH's) are coming here and we're all going to Christmas Tree Shop for all their awesome sales!
Happy holidays, ladies!
Bubblegum Explosion
Happy Holidays to you all!
As for Xmas plans, DH has yet to make a decision as to where we're going to be spending time (which is hugely stressful to me).
His mother invited us to her house, but we havent gone there in years (loathe that woman) and we have an open invite to the home of my/our very close friend and thats where we've spent the last two thanksgivings. So, its looking like we'll be there, but DH needs to tell me already!! LOL
Our kitchen renovation is not done - we thought we'd be done by now, but DH ordered one cabinet the wrong size. So, we're waiting on that (probably getting put in today). Then Monday they can measure for the countertops, and it gets delivered. So, Im shooting for a kitchen for NYE..I really want to just cook!
In-laws on the 24th for the seven fish feast and then stay at home the 25th and probably have my dad come over. Chinese night!
Nothing terribly exciting.
On the 24th we're going to hop over at the theatre for the traditional Christmas party, then we'll take a late night walk. On the 25th we're going to unwrap and have more cake for breakfast
Then Skype with half of Europe before we go out some place for lunch. We actually don't celebrate Christmas but our families overseas do, and we enjoy the extra opportunity to buy each other gifts.
For NYE we're invited at a friend's party.
Nothing too exciting for us either, but it will be fun.
Happy holidays to all!!!
