What is everyone up to for the weekend?
Today is my last work day before vacation! Woo hoo! This afternoon I am stopping for groceries before picking up Eli. Then we plan to make cookies, relax and finish packing.
Tomorrow we are heading to North Conway after lunch. Going on the Polar Express, then spending the night at the Hampton Inn, which has a few slides in the pool. Eli is beyond excited!
Saturday we'll hang out at the hotel until checkout, then grab some lunch and head home. We'll go to MIL's for Christmas Eve w/ DH's family.
Sunday we stay home and my parents and uncle come over in the late morning. We don't have any plans for the afternoon, so I'm not sure what we'll end up doing.
Monday afternoon we'll do Christmas with my extended family on my mom's side.
Re: Early Weekend/Holiday Plans
We hope to head to Maine tomorrow after work but if the weather is crappy, we'll head up Saturday morning. My ILs have family friends over for Christmas Eve so we'll get ready for that.
Sunday, my parents & sister & brother are invited up for Christmas day. DH's aunt, uncle and cousin will join us too...
Monday, not sure! Maybe see friends... and we head home Tuesday
Tonight I am heading to Target to pick up some Benadryl and Ibuprofen for the boys since we are out and then relaxing... tomorrow taking my car into the shop since my battery light has been coming on and hanging out with the boys.
Saturday: Christmas at my Gram's house then heading to my parents house for a Christmas celebration with them, relaxing while the boys nap and then more celebrating at my parents house, maybe taking a walk then heading home
Sunday: Christmas at the ILs with BIL and his GF, we get up in the morning then head into the hot tub and then open presents, celebrating and relaxing
then a whole week of relaxing with my kiddos!
We need to figure out what we're doing this weekend! I think I'm going to drag Matt to my church's annual Christmas concert on Friday night. It's one of the few services I actually attend and is always very nice.
My sisters and BIL are in town so there will be a lot of family related stuff. Christmas morning will be all about the little dude.
MrsSweetpea, loving the hot tub pre-gift opening on Christmas...I will be jealous of that
I'm off today through next Tuesday...DH is working until 3:00 today and then we're driving back to Long Island through Monday. So, we'll probably hang out with my parents tonight when we get back, since we stay in their guest room, but it will be late.
Tomorrow, we're heading into the city for this show, Sleep No More, that we've heard amazing things about - it was pretty pricey, but friends of ours have gone back more than once because they've been so impressed, so we figured this was our chance to experience it...soooo excited!
Saturday, we do Christmas Eve at my parents' house, so I'll probably bake some whoopie pies (a little taste of Maine for the holidays) and help get the house ready for the family. I also made a babka last week that I froze, so I'm trying to figure out if I can get it back to NY in a cooler and bake it Saturday...it's a risky baking situation. After everyone heads out, we'll probably try to meet up with some friends.
Sunday, we'll spend the morning with my family and then DH and I will go to his parents' house for the day.
Monday, we'll head back to NY, probably mid-morning. DH heads back to work Tuesday, but I was smart and asked for that day off, too...it will be sooo nice to have a day to relax after the busy long weekend.
Enjoy your holidays, everyone!
I saw your FB status last night and asked DH about indoor pools in N Conway and he said Yup, they have them. I told him we need to be there, now! Heck even in the summer since I don't go in the water around here, too cold
Today - MIL is picking up DD after her nap so I could get some things done around here, but instead I have a feeling I'll be sitting on the couch. I have this stupid cold that only really bothers me at night and I got 1.5 hrs of sleep last night
Tomorrow - tidying and making candy.
Sat. - cleaning, baking a cake for Xmas dinner, visiting with DH's grandmother and then headed to his Aunt's for a big shingdig.
Sun- I'm so excited!!!! Caroline is going to be so much fun this year. We're hosting Xmas dinner again, and will always be until Caroline is older I'm sure. So, quiet time with the three of us and a yummy breakfast and then while she naps I cook before everyone arrives.
Mon- probably hang around the house, the three of us, and play with toys
Our weekend plans are:
nursing, pooping, peeing, sleeping, milk drunk smiles and some visitors.
that about covers it :c)
I am so excited for the next few days and Savannah's first Christmas!!
Tomorrow - MH has off! We are making a Target run for last minute things, then home to bake, bake, bake!!!
Saturday - Having lunch with my sister & her father. Bringing the baby so she can see him, he is like her grandfather! After, home to finish up baking goodies!!
Sunday - A looong (but fun!) day! In the am it will be the 3 of us at home, opening gifts, having breakfast and relaxing. At noon we head to my mom's for lunch and more gifts. In the evening, we head to my MIL's for dinner and more gifts!
Monday & Tuesday - MH has off!! Soooo lots more relaxing, and taking down decorations.
Happy Holidays everyone!!!
Tomorrow I'll be working all day while DH is home with DD
No daycare and he is on vacation. I did ask to get out early so I hope that works out. My parents will probably stop by on their way north again from Portland.
Saturday I'm hoping to just lay low but I might be finishing up some shopping instead.
Sunday will be breakfast and presents with DH and DD. We have had chinese for dinner since the first year we started dating, so I'm totally looking forward to that! MMMMM
I have all next week off (since daycare is closed for the week and i have no other care) and next weekend will be crazy! I can't wait for a vacation!
Tomorrow we're going to the NH Speedway for their lights display, Saturday I need to premake a couple dishes for Christmas lunch and we have a lighted hayride at a local farm that night. Everything is wrapped and the snack food is already made, we just need to finish cleaning and getting ready for the ILs. They're staying here this weekend.
Then we get to come to Maine Monday, that's the part I'm looking forward to
Tomorrow DH and I both have the day off, but James will go to daycare. I have grocery shopping to do first thing, then DH and I are going to do a mead tasting and lunch downtown. I think he has more shopping to do and I've got some baking while the house is free of a small one.
Saturday will have more baking with the little one and just being mellow.
Sunday we'll do gifts at home then drive down to MA to be with my family for the day. James is going to have SO. MUCH. FUN!!!!!
Then I'm off the whole next week since daycare is closed. We'll play with new toys, maybe do the Children's Museum, and go down to my parents just James and I for a few days where we'll also meet up with my high school girlfriends and their kids for a playdate. Oh, and I want to maybe see the Muppets movie with James too.
Today: I got to go to Babies R Us and get Piglet registered for some necessities. I also have to finish up shopping for one more person in DH's family that I forgot about. Hopefully some vegging on the couch working on the quilt top for baby, the trip to PA has my back hurting quite badly.
Tomorrow: FIL's company does a Christmas lunch for all of their workers that I think we are expected to be at. Dinner with H's friends.
Sat/Sun: This is my first Christmas with DH's family so I'm not really sure what the plans will be.
Yeah there is a hotel with a full water park connected but it costs extra and Eli isn't big enough to do a lot of the stuff. I think the Hampton Inn is trying to compete and has some slides at their pool that are free to use. There is a little one in the kids area that looks like a frog, which Eli saw a picture of and won't stop talking about it!
I just found out I can take tomorrow off(it was contingent on some end of the year reporting I had to get done) so I am excited about that. I am doing a little last minute Christmas shopping tomorrow and then helping my mom wrap presents.
Sat- In the a.m DH and I are exchanging our gifts. Then we are headed up to see DH's family for Christmas and will be there most of the day. I am really excited because I think I got my SIL and BIL awesome presents, they are 16 and 22 so it's sometimes hard to find something they will really like.
Sun-Headed to my mom's in the morning then over to my dad's house in the afternoon.
Monday-Just hanging out!
Merry Christmas everyone!
Love this!
Tonight: Cleaning the house for the last time in 2011 and packing up Digby's bag so he can spend the week with his grandparents. They practically took the whole week off, so he's going to be spoiled rotten!
Tomorrow: Getting my car inspected and oil changed. Then dropping some stuff off with a client and a girlfriend. Likely getting a mani/pedi if I have time. The going to DH's work Christmas luncheon (for the first time ever) before...
Getting on a plane for Florida!
Saturday: We're getting on a massive floating city to spend the week in warm waters. Homework while we're gone: Figure out names for this poor kid so they don't come out nameless. A whole week with no cell phones and no internet. Hello relaxation!
I'll catch you all in 2012!
I took tomorrow off, because I just felt like I needed a good 4 day weekend. We're going to babysit my neighbor's 5 y.o. daughter in the morning which Marcus will love because he adores her. Saturday we'll go to my mom's. We're having a yummy German dinner Christmas Eve, spending the night, and doing presents and breakfast there Christmas morning. We'll head to the IL's to do presents and finger food there late morning. Monday we'll just relax at home, and then it's back to work on Tuesday.
Yesterday we flew down to VA. We're staying with my parents. My brother lives in the area and he'll show up for Christmas Eve/Christmas events.
Today DH, DD, and I ate Chick-fil-A for lunch and Papa John's pizza for dinner. I finished wrapping up all the gifts that I didn't want to pack wrapped (lest the TSA decide to upwrap them for me). DD announced yesterday that she would be making a gingerbread house with her Grandma S (um, really?) so I went to Costco, Target, and Trader Joe's looking for a gingerbread house kit. Sold out at all three. I hope I don't have to resort to actually baking a gingerbread house from scratch.
Tomorrow we're just putzing around. Someone has to go pick up the Christmas dinner Honeybaked ham tomorrow. Maybe I'll go out searching for a gingerbread house kit.
Sat we'll go to church & Sun we'll have a traditional holiday dinner.
No specific plans for the week following except for Thursday, when we're going down to Williamsburg for the day to meet up with two of my friends from college. If the weather is good we may take DD to the zoo one day.
Flying home 12/31. We'll do "second Christmas" at our house because Santa will have been there while we were away.
Mon 1/2 we have to do "third Christmas" with DH's immediate family, then we have to go do "Christmas 3.5" with his aunt/uncle/cousins because his family can't handle the fact that their kids are grown and married and they have to share holidays with other families. Hmph.
Get graham crackers and frosting. Stick them to a cardboard milk carton. Tell DD that's how you make a gingerbread house. Much easier and it will actually stay up. What she really wants to do is decorate it with the candy anyway, right?
Today, Christmas prep. Candy cane dusted frosted soft sugar cookies made. Presents done, stockings are stuffed. It will all go under the tree tonight for us to open tomorrow morning. DH is working 16 hours on Christmas day and there's a chance he can get ordered in on Christmas Eve day too. He's safe from being ordered tomorrow. We're not taking any chances... so tomorrow it is. Good thing Adrian doesn't know about days. We'll likely go for a family hike after.
Saturday: To his Auntie's house for food and fun.
Sunday: Our neighbors/Adrian's adoptive grandparents are having a crew and want us to come too.
Monday: Work
Tuesday: Taking time off to go to see MIL...who we haven't seen since Nov 2010...and who lives 1 1/2 hours away. She's a freakin piece of work....let me tell you. DH got in trouble b/c he hasn't been showing Adrian pictures of her so he'd know who his Nana is. What??? But this is also from a mother who ditched DH when he was 2 and only saw him when DH's dad brought him there on holidays and never went to a single school event...not all state football championships...even graduation. What kind of mother ditches her son anyway? I hate that I got cornered into taking time off to see her. Okay, seriously...end of tangent.
The rest of Christmas will be fantastic!
Today: Home with both babies since daycare is closed for Evie. So I am going to attempt cleaning more of my house since we are trying to make most everyone come to us this year. I will also do some prep cooking for Christmas Eve.
Tomorrow: Last minute cleaning and cooking. My side of the family is coming over to our house in the evening since it is tradition to do Christmas Eve together.?
Sunday: Our small family time in the morning, then we will probably go to Zack's dads since he has waited last minute to make plans of them coming over here. Not really looking forward to this since his step mother and grandmother are trying to cause drama with things in the past and the birth of Sawyer and I don't want to deal with it. We will the go to my grandmother's for a little bit so we can talk to my great uncle about remodeling our basement for a daycare. Then back to our house to do Christmas with his mom.?
Monday and Tuesday: Relaxing day home with our small little family! Plus getting our house back together.
Today MH is working 8am-Midnight, tomorrow He's working 8am-4pm, then again Midnight - 8am Christmas eve/morning... so Layla & I are pretty much on our own, I've got several gifts I need to finish making tonight/tomorrow. My brother came up today so I plan to spend some time with him tomorrow while our mom is working, but we have no other Christmas Eve plans.
Christmas Morning we're going to my mom's for brunch/presents, then we're doing lunch with my IL's, then the afternoon MH's going to sleep probably b/c he'll have worked a double, turnaround, turnaround, & overnight shift Friday/Saturday/Sunday (Turnaround meaning he works 8+hrs, comes home for 8 hrs, and goes back to work for 8 hours - and he's not actually home that whole time because it's 45 minutes travel time home-work one way) SO while he sleeps LO & I will go up to my grandmother's in Portage Lake for our Yankee swap - we'll miss dinner but that's OK with me... dinners up there are kind of nuts.
Monday we're going to head down to Howland to have Christmas with my Dad/Stepmom - hoping that it's a good day, My Poppy (Grandfather) is in the hospital i'll explain in another post.
