Groupon Getaways?

Has anyone here ever purchased a vacation or hotel through Groupon Getaways (or any other discount/voucher website)? The deals seem too good to be true!

For example, I am looking at a 6 night stay in Playa del Carmen for $600?! (hotel only, not flights)

I get great deals for stores, tickets, and restaurants on these sites all the time but I guess it just seems really dramatic when a vacation is 50-75% off. Surprise

We purchased a Living Social voucher for an all-inclusive in Cozumel. We haven't used it yet, but we'll be going next month. I was a little nervous, but so far, so good. We called and made our reservations immediately after we purchased it and were told to bring our voucher as our form of payment. I have noticed with some of them that additional taxes, resort fees etc. are not included, so I would just make sure you read the fine print carefully before buying anything.

Can't speak about Groupon, but I took a huge gamble on Rue La La. We bought a 12-day trip for 4 to Egypt from Intrepid Travel via Rue La La. We bought it last December before the Revolution and were really worried about how things would turn out, especially if we weren't able to take the trip due to the political situation. We ended up going in June and had the time of our lives. I could not be more in favor of it. FWIW, the trip was $1500 each, so it definitely seemed too good to be true.

What's the hotel in Playa Del Carmen? I have been several times and know many of the hotels so I may be able to help.
