Need Advice - Shingles

So DH grandmother has shingles. She is going to be at christmas dinner. So we need to decide if we are going to go. It is supposedly on her upper leg and will be covered... Evie has had the first round of chicken pox vaccine.

This will forever be known as the sick christmas

ETA: With all the sicknesses Evie has had recently, we really don't want to deal with chicken pox...

Re: Need Advice - Shingles

  • I always lean on the side of caution, so I'd say no. But it's a personal call that you guys will have to make!
  • I would say no as well. When DH had shingles, even if they were covered, he wasn't allowed to hold Taryn because risk of giving her chicken pox. She's had the vaccine, but that doesn't guarantee she would be 100% safe.

  • If all of her sores are crusted over and she has them covered with clothing, I'd go but not let her hold Evie.

This. As long as she is not touching her sores and then touching Evie, she'll be fine.

Totally agree with Amanda! GL with whatever you decide!
