Do you take out all the shelves in there too?

Whats yours?

Re: deep cleaning your refrigerator...what

  • I try to clean the shelves in place because it's hard to fit them in my sink.  I use vinegar and water or dishsoap/water and wipe dry.  For a quick touchup, I will use a lysol wipe.
  • I use a sponge with dish soap on it to clean everything out. Every once and a while I'll use a Lysol wipe on the shelves. I leave them in place since they're a PITA to get out and it doesn't make it easier for me to clean them. If the drawers are dirty inside I'll take them out and wash them in the sink.
  • If I'm just spot cleaning when I do my weekly clean out of the fridge I'll use a Chlorox wipe. When I'm doing my deep cleaning of the fridge I use dishsoap and water.

  • I clean weekly with Lysol wipes.

For deep cleaning, I take everything out, clean with dishsoap and water, then wipe with clean towels and water, then do the shelves individually in the sink, then replace everything.  The bins/ shelves are hard to get out, but the last people who lived here NEVER cleaned them, and I never want to see the edges/ seams that nasty again, so it is worth the effort.

  • I put the food in a cooler, take out all the drawers and clean/scrub the drawers out with hot soapy water. Then I clean the inside with 409. Yes, the drawers are a PITA but that's the only way I can get them spotless.
  • Dish soap and warm water! For those bad stains like blood from beef or turkey, I use Clorox to disinfect, too...good luck!Big Smile

  • I use hot soapy water and just move the items and clean the shelves and sides of the fridge, then dry. I also keep a baking soda box to keep odors at bay

  • I'm horrible about remembering to "keep up" with cleaning the fridge on a regular basis, so my cleaning usually requires a deep cleaning to get all the gook off the shelves! I usually have to take out whatever shelves and drawers I can, and soak them in the sink. Vinegar is a great cleaner, as is baking soda.
