AW those gifts girlies! Fave gifts you or you LO got!
Re: So what did ya get?
Dyson DC35 Stick Vacuum! My parents got it for me and I LOVE it! It is so perfect for quick dog hair pick up on our laminate. I have already vacuumed tonight.
Dh's fave gift: Compound Miter Saw, my parents were too generous!
Our parents were way too generous this year.
My parents gave us a new, heavy pot & pan set and $2K (!!!) toward a down payment for a new car.
H's parents gave me an Ipad 2 (!!!). His mom made me a crayon wreath that I fell in love with on Pinterest and some cute hippo stuff.
I got a Clarisonic from H and a few gift cards from family.
My husband failed big time this year. I ended up with an old-fashioned egg beater, because HE likes the one HIS grandma uses. Whatever.
My mom bought us a full membership to the local rec' center. I'm actualy really excited about that.
Here is a pic of the crayon wreath.
And I forgot that my great uncle, who is an incredible woodworker, made us a set of dominoes. The dots are maple tree and are inlaid into mesquite. He even made a box to hold them with a little gold plate engraved with our names!
This is totally corny but I wish I could do it all over again just to see Nolan so excited! This morning when he first RAN out to the living room, he stopped and just sat on the ground looking at everything... and it just got better from there. Best. Day. Ever!
The "winner" gift in his book was definitely the inflatable ball tent. LOVES it.
I got a new glider/ottoman (we just had an OLD wooden rocker), new fiesta ware, and a spa certificate among other "little" items.
DH is loving his xbox 360... me, on the other hand, I'm wondering what in the world I was thinking.
Merry Christmas, June '08!!
Our crazy, wonderful life
Merry Christmas ladies!!
My parents got us cash (good old fashioned stand-by), and they also got me a Kindle fire, a case for it, and a gift card for some books. My siblings got me a steam vac (yes, I wanted it) and a bracelet.
H's parents got me a mouse sander, which is awesome! And his sister got us a gift card to a restaurant.
DH and I didn't really do gifts this year because there wasn't much we wanted, so we just went out to dinner together instead.
I had a great Christmas!
From Sam I got some diamond stud earings, 2 pairs of workout pants, 2 workout shirts, 2 sweatshirts, and perfume.
My mom got me a specal edition Outlander book that is signed by the author!
It was a fun day with Marshall, but he wasn't really into it yet. He has really enjoyed the mega blocks and pop up tent that he got.
As for me, I got a lot of the practical stuff I asked for from DH (bras, slippers, camping utensils, etc.). His parents got me some cool photography accessories (although they're for lenses I don't own yet...Haha!), and my parents went overboard with everything as usual. We each got a bunch of stuff from them, including prepaid Visa cards & I got a black & white diamond necklace as well. It was definitely a good Christmas for us!

My boring blog
We had a great Christmas.
For me: H returned the gift he thought I wanted (apparently it was a $70 pressure cooker). Instead he got me two beads for my bracelet. One for Mom and one with I love you. Much better. My father got me a new backpack style camera bag and my mother got me much needed kitchen gadgets and some more beads for my bracelet.
H got a circular saw from me and lots of tools from my family. He really enjoyed making Alex's bed, so we all got him more stuff to do more projects like that. Not one videogame. I am so happy about that.
Alex was in awe. We had a big gathering Christmas eve and the presents reached out halfway through the living room for all of us. By the end she was just overwhelmed and didn't want to open any more. My 6 year old nephew was glad to step in and help her though. She got dress up clothes, an easel with white board and chalk board, My Little Pony doll, and tons more I can't even remember.
Christmas morning Alex woke up at 4:30, but didn't notice the tree got restocked overnight. Once she noticed though we had a slow Christmas morning since we had no plans for the whole day. She opened one gift, and H would play with her with it. then on to the next. She has made H play Don't Break the Ice with her about 200 times already and read her Mickey book about the same amount. We also gave her a huge pop up play tent (that we bought her last year but since she got a smaller version from someone else we just tucked ours away). The thing is massive, but she loves it.
The ILs got a Spiderman one for Landon. He's still a little young, but he loves it too! I think his favorite toy so far is the mega bloks table.
My best gift was a spa package from DH... 1 hour massage, 1 hour facial, manicure, pedicure, and hair wash/cut/style.
Life of mrsjanks
Taryn absolutely loves her train set! She's hardly touched any of her other toys, she's playing with it so much!
As for me, DH bought me a necklace from Etsy w/ the girls names and birthstones.
My ILs bought me a Kindle Fire.
My parents and sister bought me some of my favorite brand of jeans, a super cute sweater, Bath & Body Works goodies, and gift cards for Amazon, Target, and Victoria's Secret. My grandparents bought me a gift card for Bath and Body Works and gave us a few gift cards for restaurants.
All in all, we were all spoiled and it was a great Christmas!
Merry Christmas, everyone!
I got a bunch of biking stuff. I just bought myself a beautiful new road bike with some birthday money. My in-laws and DH helped accessorize it with new pedals and clip-in shoes, and biking capris and a jersey. I also got a new laptop bag. From a gift toss, I got Catchphrase and a couple DVDs.
We're headed to my parents' place shortly. Can't wait to see them!
I am surprised kids younger than Janie were really so into it as she wasn't. I thought it was the age, but maybe not? She totally doesn't "get" presents at all. LOL. Maybe that's a good thing?
Mine was kind of "meh". DH normally does really good and had me all excited that it was kind of a let down. Then he told me what he was going to do which was even worse, so I guess it's good? I got a new silicone spatula (that he broke last week), a frame for my desk at work (I went and bought my own last week, oops), a subscription to US magazine and then the two most 'creative' things were a sign from a local store in town that I mentioned I liked and then an "IOU" for James Taylor tickets this Summer.
I was so excited to give him his gift and while he liked the phone, he got that one early. So yesterday was the landscaping gift and his reaction was "its OK" and then "did you book this yet"....I started crying and he tried to retract that he said that and was pretending to love it which made it a million times worse.
Bah humbug, Christmas fail.
My dad got me a remote starter for my car, so I'm really excited about that. I just have to make the appointment to drop my car off and have it installed. He got me lots of other little things too (a few Patriots and Red Sox ornaments, a Patriots hoodie, candy, etc). He got DH a pair of really nice LLBean boots and some little things. He really spoiled us this year.
DH got me a jacket I asked for, a new camera, some bath and body works stuff, an Amazon gift card to buy Kindle books, and a pair of North Face gloves. I'm thrilled with the gifts, but it was all stuff I asked for, so none of it was a surprise.
I got maternity clothes, a BaByliss straightener, a Michael Kors iphone holder wallet combo thing, a point and shoot camera, restaurant gift cards, a Birchbox subscription, a Calphalon set to replace the crappy stuff we own, pajamas & fuzzy socks, a nice set of assorted teas, Philosophy products, an OtterBox, and some other assorted stuff.
Natalie really enjoyed Christmas for the most part, but like Jill's description of Alex, she was totally over opening presents after a while. She didn't even open 1/2 of what my ILs got her (another story in and of itself, since they were only supposed to buy her a total of 3 items and bought more like 15, so I was actually glad.)
Her favorite toys this year are her new Radio Flyer wagon and her Buzz and Woody talking action figures.
Mom got me tons of clothes and matching jewelry as well as a sewing machine!! DH got me pearls, and I love them too!!!
I got DH the collector's edition of the new Star Wars game that came out, but he got that early because one of the perks was early play time before other subscribers.
I got a Kindle, maternity clothes (including the Gap jeans I wanted!), Old Navy gift cards, cash, restaurant gift card, a cooking class, ornaments for the tree, and some other random small things.
Today I went and got a new iPhone 4s with some of my gift cards. Merry Christmas to me!
Dh got lots of tools, some clothes, gift cards for the golf store and some restaurants, and golf balls.
We didn't exchange gifts because we're remodeling our bathroom this week. DH likes to say that he got me a toilet and a tub for Christmas this year.
My Blog
I got an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner, gift cards to the spa, a one time maid service g/c (but DH said if we like them, we can look into a monthly package, woot!!), an immersion blender, a clairisonic, cute leopard scarf and some jewelry, gloves and of course, starbucks g/c for my addiction:)
DH got a bunch of work stuff (flashlight, bags), a fun grill rub kit, Sons of Anarchy Seasons 1-3, gift cards to Best Buy, Lowes, and a box of seasonal beer!
Liam was spoiled rotten BUT he had so much fun:) He got a beanbag chair, more Megabloks, and legos, some DVDS (Thomas, Mickey and Little Einsteins), 4 new pairs of shoes, snowsuit, wooden trucks and toys, puzzles, etc.
It was a great Christmas!
MyFitnessPal - Free Calorie Counter
I got a GPS and one of those handsfree speaker things for my phone. Brownie pan, 2 hot chocolate makers (one for work and one for home), a Vera Bradley wristlet, digital frame for my office, gift cards, and ornaments. Once again, my aunt got me holiday towels. We have a lot of bathrooms, but not that many. I now have about 8 or 9 sets of holiday towels from her. She buys them each Christmas.
I got DH clothes, including a new North Face fleece jacket. Everyone else got him clothes as well and big fat check from his parents.
Cooper got a ton of stuff. From Santa he got the Cooper bear that reads the book with you (he got one from a great aunt as well), Dance and Play puppy, several teethers, carseat toys, clothes and cash. So far, he seems to like the Mortimer Moose that my cousin gave him, a little ball with a bell inside, and a crawl along snail.
DH got me a beautiful white gold/diamond cross necklace and an ipod nano filled with music. I have a plug in already in my Jeep, so it's perfect!
We also got a Flip video cam from my parents which is going to come in handy if this baby ever shows up. Oh, and a nice fireproof safe, which I have been wanting for awhile to keep all of our important stuff in.
My sister got us a monogrammed photo album.
MIL got us some new sheets.
