Happy Christmas Nesties!

I have a bird in the oven, a wild dog, two cats screeching around....so glad to be spending Christmas with just the hubby!

You all enjoy today and I want to hear Santa stories!

Re: Happy Christmas Nesties!

  • Merry Christmas!  We got some great presents.  I just went for a run and now we're relaxing at the in-laws.
  • Merry Christmas! We are about to head home. Im exhausted. I had to sleep (in the same bed) with my mom and dad last night.  They both snore. Wtf?!

  • Merry Christmas!

I have three sleeping children so I am happy now! The kids opened their gifts this morning and then we went to church. Then we went to my parents' house, but we just had lunch with them. We are celebrating Christmas with my family next weekend since my brother and his fiancee went this weekend to be with her family.

I am so glad the holidays are almost over!

  • Merry Christmas!

We had a great but tiring day--presents and lunch at my parents' house at noon, then a later lunch and presents for G at DH's grandma's. We got home a few hours ago, got G fed, bathed, and in bed and now we're laying around watching tv. AND---- DH and I exchanged gifts last night and I got a Dyson! Big Smile

  • Merry Christmas!

We had a good weekend.  I got to have great bonding time with my grandma and actually left my parents house on a good note.  Came home last night and DH and I had our Christmas early. We slept in today and had Chinese food for dinner.  It was so relaxing just the two of us!

I have thought of you all weekend, Jenn. You are an amazing person.

BTW, I haven't sent you that thing yet because it is on my work computer and it somehow got a virus from TRIP ADVISER -  I will get my computer fixed when I get back to work on Weds. So sorry!

thank you!  and I really appreciate it!  Don't worry though, I probably won't have a minute to look at it until Thursday anyway, but I think it will help me get some things in order!

  • Merry Christmas! We haven't actually celebrated here yet because DH is still in Oklahoma. He dropped me off in Indiana with my parents a few days ago and then had to fly back to Oklahoma to go to work. It's sad without him here, but we're saving the fun stuff (i.e., gifts) for when he flies back on the 29th. I did make a four course meal for both sets of grandparents, my brother, my parents, and my "other siblings" today. (Our other siblings are my brother's best friend and her brother---they lost both parents when they were 19 and 20, so we're lucky enough to have "adopted" them.) But, it's not the same without all of the special traditions.

That means that I'm in Indiana for...a VERY long time. I love my family, but I also miss my own home. And I have a ton of research to do, which is really hard here with so many people around. I can only write at home if DH is sleeping or at work, so add 3 extra people who all want to play with me and it's a bigger challenge. The upside? I have 3 extra people who want to play with me all day :)

Ah well...like I told my dad the other day. I can always send a paper to another conference, but I'm not sure how many more tipsy lunches out I can have with my 80 year old grandmother. :)

  • I spent a week with my parents in Indiana, then my sister joined us for a few days at the end of last week. I enjoy seeing them, but the overall feeling of my trip was frustration. They have a tiny house, filled with piles of junk, that stinks from a rabbit cage that doesn't get cleaned often enough, among other issues.

We went to the extended family gathering for my mom's side of the family Friday night, then did our family gift exchange Saturday morning since I was leaving that afternoon to spend Christmas with H and my inlaws. I love my family, but I was ready to go visit the in-laws by the end of my trip!

We agreed to do a small gift exchange, so no huge presents. My sister got me a nice watch (that I picked out then she told me to go wander elsewhere in the store while she bought it!). My favorite gift was actually rubber door stoppers from the dollar store. We've been propping a loose door open with a cardboard box since August.

Now I'm in Florida where the in-laws live. MIL and I went for a ride on their SeaDoo yesterday, and H and I are going to the beach today. Woo hoo!
