Did everyone have a good Christmas?

How was everyone's Christmas? Did Santa bring you everything you wanted? Any family drama to share?

Re: Did everyone have a good Christmas?

  • There was actually zero drama this year. It was nice.  My family tends to yell a lot, but no one is ever mad so it's all good.

We did the family celebration Friday night/Saturday morning.  We did gifts and breakfast then.  Sunday DH and I did our own little Christmas celebration and opened a couple of gifts (and I made a roast for dinner).

Santa was pretty good this year.  I got some new pjs, a new canning set, a cast iron skillet, Lion King on BluRay, Tetris for Wii, one of the Lonely Island cds, new clothes, and some other stuff.

  • I had a great Christmas too. Santa was very kind to me. The highlights were my Kuerig, enough KCups to last a very long time, a new purse, pearl stud earrings, and a LOFT gc for new clothes.

No family drama. I stopped by my dad's house for a little while and spent some time with my grandmother and niece.

Lucky lady. I'm sure the gc was appreciated since you're going to keep shedding those pounds. Big Smile

How are things going with your niece?

We had a great weekend. Christmas Eve we went to my parents' and ate lots of junk food, hung around, opened pajamas, etc.

Christmas Day we went back to my parents' house and opened presents for hours in the morning. Then we ate the breakfast casseroles I'd made (skinny taste and WW recipes and they were still a big hit) and hung around. We went to DH's grandma's house for a short visit then came back to my parents' house and helped cook dinner. Then we watched movies and just vegged.

Santa was pretty generous this year. I got several new purses (which I really needed), lots of dangly earrings, a fun pair of pumps (from DH) and we got a significant amount of money toward buying a grill. We'll be going with my dad sometime this week to pick it out.

Oh, and the foster pup traveled with us all weekend and was on his best behavior. Nobody could believe how well behaved he was. We're worn out though so lots of lazy time today.

  • Ours was good! Wyatt got a TON of toys! DH and I didn't do gifts for each other this year since our budget it really tight. We opted to do stockings instead.

We did have an issue creep up last night when I walked into our front foyer and stepped in something wet. I thought one of the dogs had peed on the carpet since it was near the front door. It turns out that the water pipe that goes to the water line for our fridge decided to crack and water went everywhere in the front foyer which is on the other side of the wall from the water line.  We ended up shutting off the water and calling our friend who is a plumber to fix it today.  Thank goodness the crack in the pipe was right at the concrete slab line so he didn't have to break the slab to get to it.  The carpet in the foyer is soaked and we had to rip it up from the wall to remove the padding that was soaked as well.  Not the way I wanted to end Christmas but at least it wasn't as expensive as it could have been.

  • Glad everyone had a good Christmas! Mine was good too. It was a very girly Christmas for me - clothes, boots, bags, earrings and lots of makeup!

And now I'm back at work... Crying

  • This was the best, most fun, most stress free Christmas I've had in a long time. We had an epic neighborhood karaoke party Christmas eve and I got to spend all day with my family. I got shoes, underwear, clothes, jewelry and even some money.
  • We did, it was Mackenzie's first, so that was fun.  B's at the age now where he really gets it, which made Christmas Eve and Christmas morning SO much fun!
