There's a special place in hell for

whoever created the singing Rapunzel doll.

or my stepmom, who bought Violet the toy.

Re: There's a special place in hell for

  • Can my MIL & BIL join her? They bought Ash the Rock & Roll Elmo, a Colors & Shapes Elmo and some talking Cookie Monster. Seriously??

  • Oh I know it.

G first saw it a month ago at her cousin's birthday party and fell in love with it.  She even cried when we left because she just wanted to push the button one more time.  Since that night, I've sung the song to her for bedtime each night.

Then last night she got it from my stepmom for Christmas.  While I do want to yank its everloving musical guts out, I did truly love seeing her react when she opened it.  She practically dove onto stepmom to thank her. :)

  • This one doesn't have a button. In fact I have no idea what makes her sing - or better yet what makes her shut up. It says press her hand, but we don't have to be near her stupid hand for her to start singing. Over and over and over again.

  • I missed out on that one... darn.  Wink

Does it even have a speaker that you can tape over?  90% of Little G's toys have tape over the speakers to make them quieter - sometimes even when they have a "low volume" option.

Yikes.  Can't help you there!  G got one, but it's got a different dress that lights up, and she sings 2 lines of "I See The Light."  You have to either push a button on her chest or wave a little "magic wand" near her and she sings.

  • We have the same one. OMG. Over and over and over. It is DD1's favorite toy, and I wish she didn't like it quiiiiiiite so much.

I like Tangled, but hearing "when will my life begin?" over and over makes me feel like Rapunzel is a whiner!

  • And for the Yo Gabba Gabba boombox...OMG that is all DD will play with out of the giant pile of toys she got here at my mom's house. I'm tempted to "forget" to take it home tomorrow. I'm Yo Gabbaed out.

  • I may try the tape trick.

I told DH I'm sending it to MILs tomorrow with V. He said it's not fair to punish his family when they all bought her noise-free gifts.

    He does have a point

My brother and his girlfriend got Aiden a piggy in a teacup, not only does she not shut up she talks like a valley girl. It even says LOL, WTF?

  • This post made me realize DD didn't get any noisy toys this year, and for that I am thankful!

  • p.s., I did discover an off switch, it's on her hip. Although it does limited good when DD1 already knows she sings.

  • Yay!  No noisy toys here, the only sucky thing is that between them, my girls have a larger cash stash than my bank account balance after this weekend.  I'm happy for them though.  Smile
