how was everyone's holiday weekend?
Mine was ok and had a few minor disappointments. DS has a wonderful christmas and his reaction to one of his gifts was priceless. My counsin and her H gave my son a gift that he already had but it has a ton of little pieces to it. DS has since lost 3/4 of the pieces but carries what is left around with him everywhere including to bed with him. So when he opened the gift to find a brand new one with all it's pieces he screamed, "That's what I've been looking for!!" Mommy open it!, My sister and I laughed sooo hard because we knew the whole story of him having it already and missing all the pieces. I hope he keeps up with them better this time around.

Re: how was everyone's holiday weekend?
Mine was awesome! Tons of holiday cheer and too much food and drink of course! My son loved all his presents and said it was his best Christmas ever. My mom said it was her best Christmas too.
My family met my BF (well last weekend at my mom's Christmas party but he came to my brother's for Christmas Eve) and they LOVE him!
We had a great (and productive) weekend.
The girls got a tent and sleeping bags for Christmas so they proceeded to camp out last night in the living room. They made it an entire 21 minutes from start to finish...
1. It was too dark (they had on almost every light in the house).
2. They heard noises...we investigated the first five of them.
3. After 21 minutes, they decided to head for their bunkbeads
They are soooo my daughters!
I had a small dose of this last night but it was from XH posting pics on FB of him and his daughter. He acts all father of the year in the photos meanwhile my DS and his half brother from the first wife are without a father. Then I had to remind myself it's a front and took an ambien to sleep my mind off of it.
Hopefully 2012 will bring you a nice catch!
Sorry to hear that MCC. Hoping a new year will bring lots of new and happy times!
Mine was wonderful! The BF and I got to spend some unexpected time (3 days) together! That's all I needed
, of course, kids had a great Santa visit!
Mine was awesome! Spent a lot of time with family and for the first time ever, I was able to relax and enjoy each celebration we had. BF fits in amazingly well with my family and his family makes me feel like I have always been a part of it.
BF got me super awesome gifts and he really loved everything I got for him.
Mine was more good than bad. I visited a new church on Xmas eve with one of my bff's (I LOVED it by the way - I've been looking for a new church, so this is uber exciting for me). Since she just broke up with her bf a few weeks ago, we were both single and alone, so we spent much of it together doing nothing but drinking wine and enjoying each other's company.
Even though I spent Christmas day alone, I continually thought about how much better this year was than the past few, mentally and emotionally. To be able to say that when you're alone on Christmas is really demonstrating how far I've come.
ONWARD AND UPWARD!
Tomorrow DS and I are heading to my parents house to have our Christmas celebration. Yay!
It had its ups and downs.
I spent Christmas with my dad's side of the family, and it was so cute watching my aunt and her new hubby (they've only been married since May, so they're still in that disgustingly cute phase). It was really nice seeing family, and I got some excellent gifts, but it was a bummer to spend it away from BF. And my grandmother was in and out of the hospital the whole weekend, so that was also less than fun.
Eh...it was pretty much like any other weekend. This is the first year ever that I didn't spend the holidays with some sort of family. And I actually spent Christmas Day by myself. I was actually ok for most of the weekend. Christmas Eve was the only day that was a little hard. I went to church and I felt like the ONLY one in the world that was there by myself - no friends or family with me.
The highlight of the weekend though was Friday! I finally made it over to see my friend's 7 week old baby. He was so cute I just wanted to keep him lol.
