couples negril?

Anyone been?  Any reviews of good, bad or ugly?

Re: couples negril?

  • I waas there about 6 -7 years ago and it was wonderful. Negril is really the only place id go back to in Jamaica

  • Love it, it's one of our favorite places on earth. Here is my very long-winded review on tripadvisor if you want practically every single detail on our 2nd trip there...

(sorry, can't make it clicky on my mac...)

  • I ust got back from Beaches Negril (it was awesome!)  I heard some people on the plane ride back who stayed at Couples and they seemed to really like it.

  • We love Couples Negril.  Great food, beautiful beach, fantastic staff.  It's big enough that you have all of the amenities that you need, but small enough that it doesn't feel overridden with people.  I highly recommend CN.

  • We stayed at Breezes Grand Negril which was next to Couples.  They are next to each other.  I was able to walk through Couples beach and I was not that impressed with their beach c/w Breezes' beach and snorkeling area.  (There are 2 beaches at Breezes and a lot other resorts bring their boats to the Breezes' shore for snorkeling.)  However, I've heard Couples have pretty good pools and restaurants.  Have you looked up Couples Negril on TripadAdvisor?

  • DH and I stayed at Couples Negril on our honeymoon and we LOVED it. It's a really friendly place, the food and drinks are awesome, and we'll be going back to Couples in April!

  • Debbie downer here - We went for our HM 6 years ago and it was ok, I would probably recommend Couples Swept Away over CN.  Outside of the fancy restaurant(Otaheite?) the food was average, we ended up eating off and spending a lot of extra money on dinners elsewhere.  The grounds and pool were nice, but we just kind of felt like another cow in the herd.  We upgraded to the nicer rooms and the jacuzzi tub was broke on the first day(wouldn't move us rooms and wouldn't fix it), refused to stock our fridge with Red Stripe instead they gave us some nasty Jamaican beer, the nightly apps were a joke, gift shop shorted us our change, etc.  If we would've gotten a good deal I wouldn't have been so harsh, but for what we spent we expected a lot more.

We LOVED Negril and are going back in February and staying at the Rockhouse - not AI, but HIGHLY recommended and their restaurants are awesome.  Check it out!  http://www.rockhousehotel.com/escape.php
