Go Baby machine

Is it worth it? I found it for like $75 on Amazon. It looks neat and I like the fact that my quilt pieces will be precise. Does it cut stuff like Minky and Flannel? or just cotton? Does anyone have it that would reccomend it?

  • I have it and I really like it.  Because I quilt I only want the smaller shapes and it is an efficient way of doing that.

It would definitely buy it if you cut a lot of "normal" shapes.  Search their die selection before you commit.

It will cut flannel for sure, Minky most likely but I'd worry about the stretching on the sides.  You won't be able to cut as many layers of these as you can with quilting cotton.

  • I got it for Christmas, and I like it! I plan to use it primarily for cutting felt, as I'm not a quilter. So far, I've only tried it with a single layer of felt, with a flower die, and it worked well. I doubt it could handle multiple layers of felt, but with regular fabrics, I'm sure it would work well. I haven't worked with minky, but I know it would cut flannel really well.

I also got the circle die, which I haven't used yet (need to get a different cutting mat), but cutting circles was one of the main reasons I wanted it! I'm looking forward to getting the star and heart dies too, since those are others that are difficult to cut symmetrically.

I make felt hair clips, and other felt crafts, and so far, i feel like it's perfect for it!
