s/o: Flights from US to EU
s/o my post below, I'm using kayak primarily to look for our flights to Europe in April...is there another search engine you recommend?
Or time to buy?
When I started tracking flights about 1.5 months ago they were in the $700s and now we're up into the $900s. I'm wondering if we should have booked earlier, or if there's a chance they'll drop again. Or if I should be searching somewhere other than kayak. TIA
ETA if interested: Ideally we'd like to fly out Friday, Mar 30th out of ORD to AMS and return Sunday, April 15th, fly LHR to ORD (ideally departing after 10am but no later than 3pm)

When in April?
Where are you flying into?
Yeah that's right my name's Yauch!

Over the Easter holidays is a very busy time to head to Europe. I wouldn't wait much past February to book, particularly now since airlines are reducing flights.

I'm having the same problem (we're going in March/April also). It went up about $100 and I'm worried it will keep going up. The good thing for us is that we're a little flexible with our dates and where we fly in and out. We've found it's much cheaper to fly on Tuesdays and we're willing to choose a different airport if it's worth it, but I know that wouldn't work for everyone. Good luck!
bing.com has a price predictor that is pretty accurate.
amsterdam is really popular over easter, though, so prices are likely to be high.

Ha, and we anticipated that April would be less popular. Oh well.

that is a very nice time to go to amsterdam! when we lived in amsterdam, I used skyscanner.nl (there is an english button) because you could scan by the month and it will tell you when the cheapest flights are that month.
You can also watch www.klm.com for flights. They are delta's dutch partner and usually have some good deals.
Also, with the return flights, there are specific times in which flights leave so if you want a straight flight, you'll probably leave in the early evening and land in Amsterdam around 8AM or so. Returning, flights usually leave mid-after and get you back to the US around mid-afternoon.
Have a nice time on your trip. Amsterdam is a bit chilly and rainy at the beginning of march but you'll see sun and tulips!

The tulips will be there then! Last year the best day of the year to see them was April 22nd or so. Keukenhof (http://www.keukenhof.nl/) usually opens around my birthday (which is March 18th) and there isn't much to see then but it gets really good by mid-April so you'll see good stuff!
You can take a bus to Keukenhof and wander around then rent bikes and ride the bikes through the tulip fields. It's really pretty. If you're really adventurous, you can ride rented bikes from Amsterdam through the tulip fields to Keukenhof but that would take you a few hours!

I prefer Hipmunk for flight-searching.
Sign up for a Yapta account. Enter in the details for flight options. It'll track the price and alert you to % drops. Since some fare sales only last for a few hours, his is the most effective way to catch a good deal.
