Re: Holiday round-up
I loved watching Bennett open all of his gifts...this was the 1st christmas that he really was into Christmas and presents. The week prior, I took him to the fire station to donate toys bc I got nervous that he was a little too obsessed with everything being for him. he handled it really well and i was happy to start that tradition. on xmas morning, my mom gave him a teepee (yep...it's in my family room. my husband can even fit inside) and he loved his kitchen set and his little backpack I got for him. he wore it the whole time he opened gifts
that made me happy. he got a lot of little stuff: books, cars, trains, trucks, clothes, etc.
My husband got me the ugg slippers i wanted. yay! my mom got me a kindle touch...i wanted just the basic but i guess this is even better. yay! my dad got my a nightstand for our guestroom (which i've had since last month), my MIL and FIL got me spa giftcards and i got various other little items i asked for: a juicer, reusable drinking cups/travel mugs, giftcards for starbucks and a bagel place i like, etc.
Audrey got sooo much stuff so far! (We have 2 more Christmases to go!).
Mickey's rocket ship
Strawberry Shortcake Berry Bitty Cafe
Leap pad
Princess dolls
movies
books
Littlest pet shoppe
new thomas things for the train table
cars
dump truck with Woody and alien (toy story)
clothes and pjs
microphone (hilarious)
a balloon (lol! she loves them)
a couple savings bonds
coloring books
uno moo
memory (dora version)
soccer ball and shin guards (no pressure at all from my soccer playing cousins lol)
So far her faves seem to be the strawberry shortcake, mickey rocket, and leap pad. She had no issues figuring out the Leappad immediately.
I got a 9 qt le creuset dutch oven, a couple t shirts, a new OSU hoodie, pf changs gc, cash, Adele cd, barnes and noble gc for some nook books, new sd card for my camera, a silver parachute necklace (hunger games). I cannot wait to make turkey soup in my new pot!
DH got some shirts, hoodie, iphone bottle opener case, goodnight ipad, steve jobs biography, iphone stands (plunger and bubble gum ones.. hilarious. love thinkgeek), 2 tires for the jeep, a ps3 (we bought last month), ps3 games
I loved giving my nephew his gifts the most. He is 2 and was just the cutest thing opening presents. We got him a Thomas train set, some Thomas PJ's and rolling backpack.
I got a lot of useful things this year. I got some clothes, a new laptop case, slippers, PJ's, magazine renewals and giftcards.
My family Christmas isn't until this weekend, so we have more exchanging to do. I'm really looking forward to giving my Grandma the big Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer a bunch of us got her. I hope she loves it!
K already had played with his 2 big gifts. He had a few little toys to open from us Christmas morning. He did a bit better than last year about ripping paper, and he loves the little fire engine he got.
MIL gave me a Spartan football. The woman knows I love MSU so she gets me a damn football. There are so many other options, so needless to say I was disappointed with that gift. She got H a shirt that says "This is what a really cool dad looks like." Not the best, but better than what she gave me. SIL gave me a Scentsy Warmer. It's got Gingerbread men on it, so it will be for the holidays only, but the 2 scents for it are awesome! Very impressed with it.
My Profile
awesome!
H got me a nook (so excited about it!!), some artwork that I've had my eye on for a while, a cool new watch. I got him an arcade style basketball game for the basement, some pajama pants, a Tigers sweatshirt and a blown up picture of Max. Max got a lot of stuff from MIL, books/games/toys. She also got him a Scooby Doo rocking "horse". It's pretty cool! She went so overboard on Christmas this year. H and I got a ton of stuff from her - slippers, gloves, hats, socks, pajamas, a robe, soap, candles, stuff for the theater room. The list goes on. It honestly looks like the mall puked in our house. It's kind of embarrasing right now.
Clara got (from DH & I and extended family): a lot of clothes, a lot of books, a couple toys, an umbrella stroller, a couple stuffed animals (ugh, i hate those things...they can take over your house), and little things like teethers and pacis and such.
DH and I agreed we weren't going to exchange really, but he bought me a pandora charm for my stocking (a cross) and another one "from Clara" that says MOM on it. I got candy and slippers and fun stocking stuffers from him. I got a gym membership/competition type thing good for three months that I'm going to do with my Dad from my parents, and a Coach purse from them. A cute wall hanging from my brother's gf...Lots of little things.
It was a good Christmas.
Whaaaaa? I
Hedwig! Mayb'e I'll watch that later
Everyone got cookies from me this year. My dad was happy about the rugelagh I made for him. But my stoner younger cousin was the most psyched to receive them. He and his GF each got a tub of cookies and candy.. I'm sure they were gone that night.
My mom gave me a bunch of Lancome products to pamper myself with. Best thing ever. And my auntie gave me an amazing purse. It's tan, it's huge, and it's perfectly me. Then there's the infamous foul perfume and child's sweater from an aunt. J got some nice work/dress shirts from my mom, a leather journal from my aunt, and a bottle of wine cooler lol
I got my Kuerig, Tall ugg boots, a really nice coach purse from my IL's. I got a bunch of LUSH gift packs from a few different people which I love. I almost cried in disappointment when I opened the food saver from my husband (I'm such a brat), but I had myself convinced it was the DSLR camera I had been drooling over. Then the next thing I opened was this really beautiful Diamond and Blue Amethyst pendant so he made up for the appliance gift.
Brian's cousin loved the wedding date hanger I gave her for Christmas. His brother's GF was ecstatic over the custom wine bottle I ordered her with her dogs picture on it.
I ordered one for my mom too but we exchange tomorrow night.
Christmas was really great this year. The kids on both sides of the family were awesome and loved their presents.
My sister and I went halves on a large play kitchen for my neice. It was awesome. Took me 3.5 hours to put it together though, which was horrible. She screamed when she saw it, which I loved. She's 3 years old.
Here's a pic.
H and I were spoiled again this year. My favorite gifts are: new coach pocketbook, apple tv, a lunchbox, car safety tools. We also got a bunch of other little things. It was very nice.
