Decor help

We are thinking of getting some new overhead lighting for our kitchen.  I will try to PIP pics of our current kitchen later.  I was thinking track lighting for over our island, and a new ceiling fan for over the table.  We may also get rid of the popcorn ceiling and put in crown molding.

Currently, we have mostly white cabinets, red wall, white large appliances, and black small appliances.  Our table, island, and buffet are all dark cherry.  What kind of lighting do you think would look best? I was thinking black or possibly bronze.

Any places to look besides Home Depot or Lowes? I wasn't loving the online selections.

Re: Decor help

  • I think bronze would look nice.

Have you tried Lamps Plus? http://www.lampsplus.com or Overstock? I've had good luck with both of those.

No, I haven't tried there yet. Thanks for the suggestions!

  • I think bronze sounds nice as well but with no picture (and me being a visual person) it's hard to say.

Another thought in regards to where to look is to look in your area for a lighting fixture store. They're usually family run/owned and will have a more unique selection. It may be a little more pricey but you will likely get better customer serviceetter quality and I personally don't mind shelling out a little more cash to stimulate the local, small business economy.
