Does anyone have a Nook Tablet or Kindle Fire?
I got a lot of giftcards for my birthday and Christmas and I'm thinking about buying one. I played with both of them at the store yesterday and I can't decide which I like more.
I love to read, but I can't decide if I will like having a tablet versus an actual book. If you have one, I'd love your input! Thanks.
Re: Does anyone have a Nook Tablet or Kindle Fire?
I have the Nook Simple Touch, and I love it. I owned a bunch of ebooks prior to getting it, and reading them on the laptop wasn't always the easiest. Luckily they were all ePub or PDF files so they transferred to my Nook really easily. Plus B&N offers a lot of free books (just search 0.00 on their site), so I have read a lot more on there than I thought I would.
Plus my library uses Overdrive so I'm able to check out ebooks from them and read them on my Nook.
I had an issue early on with my Nook, and B&N was really good with customer service and replacing mine. So I went and bought the warranty they offer just because with a toddler I didn't want to risk him ruining something once the original warranty ran out. Plus the additional warranty includes more things.
6 months after getting it I'm still loving it, and not disappointed that it isn't the Nook Color or Tablet.
My Profile
I really like my nook. I like how you can get in person support from B&N any time you need as opposed to Amazon, which is online.
Kare, with the ipad, you can get a nook or kindle app and download that to use on the ipad. the kindle is pretty much going to be wasted.
Yeah, I know. That's why I was kind of surprised that they got it for me. I guess the called my H and asked and he told them that he thought I liked "real" books, but I may like it. It's my boss so what was he supposed to say. I can't really return it either since she ordered it on her Amazon account and it will show up if I do. I feel so lame for not really wanting a really nice gift that so many people want, but I hate wasting it so I'm really going to try to use it.
I have a feeling the Ipad will end up being H's and the Kindle will be mine, which kind of stinks since I like the Ipad better. Oh well.
Thanks ladies!!
I wish I could make myself spend the extra for an Ipad, but I just can't yet.
I'm going to look at them again in the store and maybe I'll make a decision.
I don't think it shows up on her account if you return it. But another idea, could you ask them if you could exchange it for a Kindle Touch instead? Those have screen that is more like a real book, and it's less like a tablet. Plus I think it's smaller. Maybe you'd use that more?
