BR: Cry it out suggestions
First off please excuse the horrible formatting. I'm posting from my phone. We are o day of the CIO method. So far both day has pretty much looked like this: naptime: lay her down at 12....she cries for 3ish hours without sleeping. Bedtime: bath, book, nursing/snuggles. Put I bed wide awake, she cries for 10 minutes and is out. I know the reason nighttime is goin so well is because she is exhausted from having no nap. Do I keep letting it go like this?? Will she eventually start napping again once she gets the self soothing under control?? On a funny note we are 4 for 4 on finding her pantsless.
Warning
No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
Re: BR: Cry it out suggestions
We never did CIO for naptime so I don't have any suggestions
N needs his daytime nap or he is a bear so I always just do whatever it takes to get him to take a nap. Luckily, it only takes about 10 minutes (dark room, Scout on bedtime music, fan on, someone in the room with him) before he's out.
Can you maybe get her really used to bedtime first, then try the naptime CIO? GL... this parenting stuff is HARD!
Our crazy, wonderful life
The only thing I can think of for naps is to maybe try putting her down at a different time.... maybe something earlier, before lunch? Or something later in the day? If she's overtired (or not tired enough), it could explain why she won't go down at 12. Other than that, I have nothing
It's not easy at all.... hang in there!!!! Too funny though that she keeps ending up pantless.
What were her naps like pre-CIO? Any kind of schedule?
I always found that the better they slept during the day, the better at night. So, I think like Tiffany says maybe just do what you can to make sure she naps and then do CIO at night?
Hard to say though w/o knowing what she was like beforehand.
Today I put her down at 10. She fell asleep sitting up for about 20 minutes. Now we are an hour into her actual naptime. Shes exhausted still (almost fell asleep cuddling with me) but she won't give in.
