i feel terrible

our cat is gravely ill. the vet said she has a raging uti that has gone up into her kidneys and she has lost kidney function. we brought her home tonight but her condition is guarded. i am now thinking of all the things i should have seen but didn't and am making myself sick over it.
Me:39 Dx LPD, Fibroid, AMA and all that goes with that. H:37 Dx low motility and low morphology. TTC since 3/12. Clomid 8/12 and 9/12: BFN. 11/12 on a break for Myomectomy sched. 11/26. Resume TTC early 2013.

    I'm sorry you cat is sick, but it's definitely not your fault! It's so hard to tell when things are wrong with pets because they can't talk. I'm assuming her kidneys have regained function, right?? I hope she's better very soon!

    Unfortunately, that's one of the problems with kidney issues...by the time you exhibit any symptons/feel bad, it means it's progressed pretty aggressively. Thats one reason why it seems i got so sick so fast. It's amazing how normal you can appear when inside, you're really ill. I'm sorry...it is not yOur fault.

    Oh MD!  It is not at all your fault. Like Bucks said, by the time you see any signs, it's already progressed. I felt the same way when Murphy got ill. It seems so sudden, but there was no way you could have known. I hope you all feel better. Pepper and I are sending vibes

    totally not your fault! think about all the weird things we see our pets do and they aren't signs of anything - there's no way for you to know that this time would have been different. i'm so sorry she is sick.

    I am so sorry.  Don't blame yourself though.  Animals can be very good at hiding pain and discomfort.

    thank you, guys. i will keep going back to this to read it. unfortunately i'm still going nuts over this. i know logically it's not my fault but my brain still keeps cycling back to that place. it's terrible.

    I'm so sorry you feel this way. It's not your fault. There is really not much I can say since the rest of the posts say it all. Hope you can get it out of your mind and feel better soon.
