Re: Want to take a walk down memory lane?

  • Oh Jesus.

I haven't opened yet, but this should be hysterical.

  • Seriously? All of my are boring.... Running & buying a house. Done & Done.

Oh & go to the gynecologist & dentist? Also done.

  • O-M-G...

First off, I love how I actually recognize everyone by their usernames, then! Ha.

I am soooo glad I did not have a baby with XH as was originally planned for 2010. Would have been an epic fail. I still dream/think about having another child, but not until my life is a little more stabilized!

I did get 95% out of debt, though! Woot!

  • LB, did you ever make it to 125 books? The idea of that many books just blows my mind... The most I've ever been able to get through in 1 year was 23 books.
  • This post is a great reminder of how much I suck at making resolutions/goals and sticking to them.  Let's take a look back at mine.

    2010
    1. start a blog (havent done it) -Still haven't set up a blog
    2. set up our finances on mint.com-started this then stopped after a few months
    3. get rid of all CC debt by the end of the year--HAHAHAHA!!
    4. join sparkpeople (did this!)-Did this then cancelled membership a few weeks later

Oh, in another post I also said I wanted to be KU in 2010 which is the only thing that did happen.  I guess I didn't make goals in 2009 or 2011.  I remember that for 2010 we had very little credit card debt and now I wish that was still the case.  The amount of debt we are in is significantly more now since DH lost his job and decided to start his own business, we had Wyatt and now live off of my income which is WAY less than was DH made when he worked in sales.

  • Surprisingly, my track record is pretty good the the last three years.

-I started running and met my goals but then stopped when I replaced it with zumba and I'm okay with that.
-Started going to routine doctor appointments like a real adult lol.
-Redid the yard and did tons of improvements around the house.
-Read a lot in 2009 and 2010, but slacked off in 2011.
    -Got a rescue dog.
-Still plan all meals during the week still and stick with the plan 90% of the time.
-Fostered not one but two dogs!
-I did volunteer for the cause I wanted to although not as long as I would have liked.

The only goal I didn't meet was losing another 10 or 20 pounds in 2011. Story of my life.

  • This is fun.

2009- No more wedding planning- done. Start paying off debt- ha, no.

2010- Get fit/lose weight- no. Widen my reading selections- not really. Debt, ha! Reusable bags- I use them about 80% of the time. Look/feel prettier- I'll claim success on this one. I've become more aware of how I dress and make an effort with my hair and makeup.

2011- No goals for me, I guess.

  • Apparently I don't make goals... or at least I don't post them here. lol. Maybe that should be my goal - to formulate some goals and then share them here.

It was interesting seeing a bunch of people who used to post but aren't really around anymore.

As materialistic/shallow as it sounds, this one is huge for me. The self-esteem benefits are really worth the time & effort. I recently chucked the Revlon Colorstay & went back to MAC. Holy crap. I feel like I look so much better now.

I went from Covergirl to Revlon Colorstay. I also started using the Monistat stuff for primer and it makes such a huge difference (I have you to thank for that tip). Baby steps, lol. I want to go to the makeup counter and ask for help but I'm so self conscience it scares me. Maybe that should be a goal too.

  • I have not made any of my goals. Maybe 2012 will be my year??

What are you looking for? I know a bunch of us love makeup. We can try and help (and avoid working in the process). :)

It looks like the closest I got was 102 in 2009.

  • LOL, this is hilarious.

I did move back to Jax.

Got rid of DHs debt (since I got rid of DH!)

Did not save for a house, this is no longer relevant

Did not switch career goals to what I listed but I am in a new company and much happier so I still count this as a check.

I am continuing to do well with weight loss and diet.

    Not too shabby!

What?! Going to the makeup counter to get gussied up is so much fun! Grab L3, I'm sure she'd take you! I went to MAC with a friend a few weeks ago, told the girl I was looking for new foundation & powder. We played with makeup for like an hour. It was a blast!

  • I apparently had no goals for 2010 and 2011.  My goal for 2012 is to establish goals :)
