What the?! Stain on the wall
I starting packing up all my horse show awards this morning. I had a wall mounted shelf in my office with a rod beneath it and there was a leather halter I won at a show hanging on it for the past year and a half. No part of the halter was ever actually touching the wall. When I took it off, there were two big, reddish, oily circles on the wall exactly behind where the brass hardware was on the halter. They won't clean off.
What in the world? Any chemistry experts out there that can explain this one?

If it's oil or something and you do repaint, prep that area with a kilz primer so the oils won't leach through the new paint. GL!
