is this teething?

Help! I have no idea what is going on with Felix. Backstory: He had been sick and had two ear infections last month. Last Thursday he went in for shots and on Friday he was sick again (fever, runny nose). Saturday he projectile vomited. And he is cranky as anything -- like a different baby. Worst, he's not napping... or napping for just 30 minutes so on top of being cranky, he's tired. We went to the Dr. to check his ears and she said he's fine, but I don't know what to do with him!

Could this be teething on top of his cold? I don't see anything coming through.

Re: is this teething?

  • Oh, and DH is out of town and I am sick too, so I am trying to be patient but running out of ideas to get hi to stop crying and sleep!

  • I'm sorry you are dealing with this.  It really is hard.

I'm sorry I am not sure how old Felix is , but I can tell you that one of the boys you would never know he was teething, but with Zach it is a whole different ball game. (they are 17 months) His sleep patterns were way off, whiny all the time.  He spiked a fever about a week before his upper i-teeth popped through (this happened with his molars too).  It took a couple of days before I could truly see them.  I'm sorry I don't have true answers for you.

My boys have also been battling a long drawn out cold for a month now. Zach has been very needy. There were times I have to just hold him to get him to sleep.

  • Zach sound exactly like how Felix has been acting, so maybe it is teething. That on top of his cold I'm sure is making him miserable.

  • Everytime Adrian is so not himself, we say "I wonder if he's teething'.  Like clockwork, the next day there's a little bit of white.  It may be what it is.  What helped us last time is we taught Adrian the sign for hurt.  When he was crying, he signed "hurt" and when we asked him what hurt, he pointed to his tooth.  Then we gave him some medicine and he felt better.
